Muhlenberg at Madisonville North Hopkins was a heck of a Thursday night game in Madisonville, KY. Both teams entered the night at 5-1 and the game was a back and forth affair for over three of the four quarters. The problem arose when a couple breaks went against Muhlenberg in the 4th quarter and the team just sort of let down, sort of surrendered. That is the next step for the Mustangs; finishing games. The Mustangs have got to learn how to finish games where the final margin is more a reflection of the game and the degree to which the game was competitive. The final Thursday night was 48-14. Credit the Maroons for carrying the fight to the Mustangs for the full 48-minutes. The game was a bit more competitive than the final score would indicate. Enjoy the feature.

We believe the Maroons look poised to have a wonderful season. They have one of the best TEs in the game in Jayden Travis. They have some all-state types like Travion Stafford and Kirk LaGrange. They have some “young guns” like Kaden Price and Ryder Sandidge. Having a “Mr. Football” candidate at RB doesn’t hurt. It is that time of year. It is time to start figuring which teams, entering the ’25 season, figure to factor in the title chase. We have detailed what we think here and it is based on our study of the incoming, ’25 rosters, what players return, what players graduated, and other various factors we have perfected through the years to render such predictions. We plan to do this for all of Kentucky’s six (6) classifications and there is no guarantee we will go in order from the top down, or the bottom to the top. There are good football teams in the KHSAA and there are bad ones and those teams span all of the six classes. Enjoy today’s look at 5A.
