What are the chances the Beechwood Tigers are going to bring back an all-time football coach and then lose his opening game back on the home sideline? As the British would say, “Not bloody likely!” Beechwood opened up last night in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky against a Cincinnati, Ohio team in Indian Hill (Braves) who were coming off a 13-1 season in ’25 with plenty of talent returning. Indian Hill was a slight favorite entering the game. We took Beechwood at home because of Rash, because of Wake commit Emmett Queen at QB, because of Tyler Fryman (WR/ATH, UK commit), and because of Nathan Pabst (uncommitted) at WR/ATH. Mostly, we took Beechwood because we believe in the quality of KHSAA football and its depth and its quality of play and quality of competition. Today we will look at the 2A classification and particularly the two teams (LCA and Beechwood) we expect to principally vie for the title and why. There are good teams interspaced throughout the classification but the two we have focused on here have all the intangibles, particularly tradition, roster talent, and coaching. It is time to break down the 2A classification and eCampus.com is as interested in this class as any other business entity in the commonwealth of KY. We picked LCA a year ago and people thought we were crazy. The Eagles return a ton of production and, all of a sudden, our prognosis doesn’t appear so far fetched. Beechwood welcomes back an all-time coaching legend to its sideline and also returns a strong Mr. Football candidate in Tyler Fryman. Owensboro Catholic, Belfry, and Breathitt all have stars, are very well coached, and figure to make a run. Enjoy this look at the 2A classification as we gear up toward the opener.

Paul Rains won a title at LCA over Mayfield in 2009, two years after coming up just three points short to Beechwood. Rains had these guys yearly in discussion. Rains, over 29-years, won 209-games and a title while journeying all over Kentucky and competing at various classifications. No doubt in our mind Paul Rains is among the greatest of all-time football coaches across this great commonwealth. Rains was the consummate “Rambin’ Man.” Enjoy this feature and remember, in the end, we’re all just trying to make a living doing the best that we can.
