Greeneville, Kentucky has been described by one of our generation’s finest folk artists and song writers (John Prine) as “paradise.” We don’t know about that, but don’t dispute it, but we do know the Mustangs have some enviable, young talent to mix in with some big-time returners for the ’25 Fall season. One of those returners is Trever Hardesty who, we have been assured, will NOT come off the field next season. I know it seems this particular feature has promoted quite a few Sayre Spartans. We can assure you it isn’t intended. It is just hard to ignore a program which has just polished off a perfect regular season at 10-0 headed into the Class A KHSAA playoffs. Why is that so hard to ignore? How about because there are only seven (7) such records among the 223-programs playing football across the commonwealth and Sayre is the only perfect regular season in its classification.
