This usually is a pretty fun article. A few days ago we posted the “KPGFootball Scorecard.” On that document we memorialized the matchup and just who we believed would win and why. What we do in the scorecard is give you the solution. What we don’t do is demonstrate how we worked the problem. Thursdays, during the football season, we often publish an article which “shows our math.” If you read this article you will see why we picked the teams we picked to win and why we picked the teams we picked to lose. You may not agree and that is okay. We are wrong between 10-15% of the time. It makes for fine reading and generous discussion. Enjoy the article.

The season is right around the corner. Therefore, we will take the next six or so days to highlight for your the top teams in each classification of play throughout the KHSAA. Today, with a special thanks to our friends at Big Ass Fans, we look at the 1A classification. Pikeville and Raceland look to be the class of the classification with Holy Cross (Lou.) looking like it may make a tremendous stride over what it turned in last season (5-7). Enjoy this look at 1A.

We continue to feature some of the better QBs in the KHSAA. That being said, there aren’t too many better than Holy Cross’s Jerek Hoover who is 6’0,” 170-pounds, threw for close to two-thousand yards last year while running for another 634, and scored or was responsible for 22-TDs running and throwing. Oh yeah, he sports a 3.7-GPAs. This is a guy who looks very recruitable to us, particularly if your program has a tough admission’s committee to by-pass. Enjoy this feature on a kid very deserving of some of the world’s finest beef jerky products and don’t forget to #SavorTheFlavor out there in Louisville, KY.
