Zane Cartwright and his Mayfield Cardinals travel to Fort Mitchell tonight to take on the defending champion in 2A football in Beechwood Independent High School. The reigning “Mr. Football” will be under center for the Tigers. The Cardinals will have the reigning Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week under center for them. One thing is certain, not a single fan from either team will file into the stadium thinking the other has any chance at victory at all and that is what makes programs like these two so great. Enjoy this feature and join us again a week from today and we will repeat this exercise which makes our week. HB.

Can’t wait to see the debate this is sure to facilitate. This should get posted on quite a few bulletin boards across Kentucky. That’s okay, it is why we are here. We are ranking, preseason, the top-five teams in each of Kentucky’s 6-Classifications. We will do this every Thursday. Today, we give you how we see the 2A classification finishing. We heard a team in Eastern Kentucky one time referenced as “The Mayfield of the Mountains.” They were quite pleased with that reference. They should be. However, this is “The Mayfield which is the actual Mayfield” we’re talking about today. They has lost a ton of offensive production. They have lost quite a bit in the third defensive level too. Is Kylan Galbreath enough to lead them back to Lexington? We will look at that in this article. HB.
