Coach Atchley continues to add to his staff at Christian County as the two area high schools march toward consolidation. The new Colonel head man appears bent on bring back on staff coaches from the not too distant past who remember what a championship caliber program resembles. Getting back Greg Abren goes a way towards bring back the program’s swag. Friday Night Fletch.

We attended the Atchley presser. He is an impressive guy and will turn that program around lickety-split. He has some material left over around whom to build. One of those “Dude” is a “Byrd.” Jimmarion Byrd is a ’26 guy who has plus size, plus athleticism, and plus hostility and feel for the game. Dan Goble, a man whose teams terrorized the 4A classification when it was know in Kentucky as “big boy football” for 11-years has gained enshrinement into the KHSAA’s Hall of Fame Class of 2023. The magazine championed this cause. It numbers prominently among our greatest achievements.

Dan Goble deserves to be inducted into the KHSAA Hall of Fame for what his teams did on the football field. We have agreed to help spearhead this push for his inclusion.
