The third phase of football is often overlooked. I was watching the BYU/Colorado bowl game last week and BYU rode a third phase clinic to a 20-0 halftime lead and an eventual victory over a favored foe. The third phase can do that for you. Ask Coach Eubanks at Hancock County. He got himself a tremendous placekicker (’28) who will be around for years to come to swing outcomes his way. Enjoy this feature and remember to #SavorTheFlavor.

Man Robinson was one of only three ’28’s to make either the small or large school all-state football teams. Big Ass Fans sponsored the team and continues to demonstrate a willingness to support and promote young Kentucky kids in the pursuit of their dreams and aspirations. We are proud to award this week’s award and recognition to one of those three freshmen who are now (and forever more) known as football All-staters. It has been hailed as the most thorough and comprehensive all-state football team in Kentucky history. Big Ass Fans and its selection committee honored 152-players, Kentucky wide, from each of its six (6) classifications. People on this team attend 81 of Kentucky 220-some odd high schools across the commonwealth. Two member of the Central Storm made the squad. We’re here to tell you about them.

Flaherty has been convincing this season as an all-state caliber running back as well as contributing on the defensive side of the football. Max Pelfry has been “keeping it cool” around Kentucky for almost as long as Big Ass Fans. This guy has been among the best players at his position since his middle school All-Star days. His high school career has been everything we thought it would be and he would make an excellent “take” for a small college program looking to take on a next-level QB with all the skills. I know it seems this particular feature has promoted quite a few Sayre Spartans. We can assure you it isn’t intended. It is just hard to ignore a program which has just polished off a perfect regular season at 10-0 headed into the Class A KHSAA playoffs. Why is that so hard to ignore? How about because there are only seven (7) such records among the 223-programs playing football across the commonwealth and Sayre is the only perfect regular season in its classification.
