Some pretty significant players from across Kentucky are nursing some injuries which could possibly impact their teams’ performances in 2019. Here are just a few of the more notable players reported as having sustained injury to KPGFootball. We are sure there are more. We can’t report on what we aren’t told. HB.
Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 2A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 3A!
Today, all over Kentucky, is the first day teams have been able to wear what the KHSAA calls “shells.” What gear constitutes “shells” is set out in Bylaw 23 and its subparts. “Shells” are defined as shorts, helmet, and shoulder pads. Judging from some social media postings we have viewed in advance of today, some of you were confused as to exactly when you could add shoulder pads to your practice equipment. We watched one middle school video of a member school practicing in “shells” last week. Anyway, the donning of shoulder pads means different things to different players so we sent out a query to some of Kentucky’s best high school players to see what, if anything, it signified to them. This article contains what we received back from some of the players asked.
We traveled with Breathitt County to EKU’s Passing League Tournament and were pleased with what we saw. First of all, this isn’t the type of event at which any Bobcat football team is going to be too proficient. It really doesn’t fit with what generally constitutes the strength of the Breathitt attack. That aside, there were some really good things we saw and we thought you would want to know. We have also included some commentary on a Pikeville squad which certainly didn’t disappoint in the performance from the Panthers we got to watch. Enjoy the article.

We were thrilled to hear yesterday from the Adkins family Jonah has been added to the Team Kentucky Future Stars-7th active roster for the June 15 show-down with Tennessee. Jonah, in an effort to keep himself physically ready, had been working all along in the event this opportunity should present. Yep, that is the Jonah Adkins we know. In honor of Dylan Goff’s attempt to break 50-seconds today in the 400 meter and win a regional championship in that event, KPGFootball thought we would publish this article about a kid who plays a disciplined defensive end for his team. If there is a kid in Kentucky deserving of an offer one would think it would be Isaac Dixon. In an age where we constantly talk about this kid or that being a dog or having a lot of dog in him, here’s a kid who has proven himself to be all dog. His time is RIGHT NOW!
This is the first LB across Kentucky in the class of 2020 who should have been offered. Instead he is flying under the radar. We have got to get the word out about his kid. He has the talent to play on Sundays. Give us a hand, would you?
