Part Two: Kentucky High School Football teams who figure to greatly improve in 2019…Fulton County Pilots

Broc, Honorably Mentioned All-WKC with District 1's COY, James Bridges

Fulton County Pilots, 2018 record…5-6; 2019 predicted regular season finish, 8-2…

We are pretty excited about Fulton County’s prospects upcoming in 2019. That excitement is centered around there being a core of play-makers returning from off the 2018 football team which finished 5-6 but dropped a one-pointer to Russellville, in Russellville, and lost to Ballard Memorial, in overtime, on the road. They were really close to 7-4 with much of the talent being in the junior and sophomore classes.

Both Russellville and Ballard Memorial have to come to Fulton County in 2019 and they will find a potent running attack anchored by a D-I RB in the senior class and a killer entering the ninth grade. Class A football, on the western end of Kentucky is “ripe for the taking” with Russellville not as good as it is accustomed and the Pilots look poised to fly in and take it this upcoming Fall.

In 2019, the Pilots have Caleb Kimble, who’s been offered by UTMartin, back for his senior year. He’s the D-oner we above mentioned. Broc Bridges has filled out his now 6-3.5, 200-pound frame and demonstrates the type explosion, power, and strength likely to vault him up the 2021 KY prospects list. In addition to all of this, Coach Bridges has an incoming group of 8th-graders who went 6-1 and have several pieces likely to challenge older players for Friday-night PT.

Just one of the stud upcoming guys who enter the program in 2019 is Kimble’s heir apparent. Class of 2023, Jashon Jones showed in middle school he has the talent, burst, size and speed to give the Pilots valuable play even though he will just be entering 9th grade.

In addition to being plenty deep in the backfield, nothing serves as a tonic for a high school football coach any more potent than being gifted a star QB to serve as the future straw which will stir the offense’s drink. That’s exactly what Coach Bridges has coming up from the “Jr. Pilot” program in arriving freshman, Max Gibbs (2023).

Gibbs is a dual threat guy who could be pressed into action early. Having seen Gibbs play, he has the moxie, poise, and athletic skills to come in and lead the team even where he may lack varsity experience. With the influx of new talent adding to what the Pilots have returning swirled in with a more favorable schedule which brings the better teams it will face to them, we believe this is an 8-2 football team in 2019 heading into the playoffs.

Join us later today as we break down another Kentucky High School team which figures to vastly improve in 2019 over its 2018 performance. We’ll see you then…
