Davon “Smoke” Rudolph, ’24 from Ballard High, is bringing the SMOKE!

This guy is a OLB/Nickle candidate who brings a ton to the table for college recruiters. That is probably why this kid will be ranked among Kentucky’s elite when the final rankings of the ’24 graduating class gets published. Lots of schools are after this player and with very good reason.

Ballard had quite a run in ’22. Ballard finished 11-3, smoked Madison Central in the regional championship game, and then narrowly lost (24-20) to traditional heavyweight Male High in the semi-state.

Davon Rudolph had quite a run himself in ’22. The junior OLB/Nickle had 76-tackles, 8-TFL’s, and four (4)-QB sacks.

Coming into his senior year, the 6′ 190-pound “Smoke-show” appears on everyone’s wish list. He has attended the US Army Bowl’s undergraduate combine, has made numerous visits to D-1, FBS level programs, and looks to have a big offseason ahead of him ramping up to his senior campaign.

This guy is not going to remain on the board too much longer. He will start fielding offers immediately and we can’t see him entering Ballard’s opener uncommitted.

As for the competition facing the Bruins in ’23, Rudolph has a message for you. “We [are] coming back for everything next year.” That just isn’t a bunch of smoke either.

We have awarded this to Rudolph as we can’t fathom how any one student athlete could have possibly lent more value to any one team’s defensive efforts as “Smoke” did to the Bruins defense a year ago. On this basis, Mingua Beef Jerky and we decided this talented and accomplished ’24 OLB/Nickle could use a bolt of protein and a sweet T-shirt.
