Class of 2020’s Drew Hartz, Owensboro Catholic High School, is the Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance both has and continues to exceed both the Owensboro Catholic Aces and Owensboro community’s expectations. Today, we are focusing on Class of 2020, QB, Drew Hartz from Owensboro Catholic High School.

Hartz’s Owensboro Catholic High School is located right down the road from 3 Independence Bank branches on 2425 Frederica Street, 2465 W. Parrish Avenue, and 3228 KY-54, respectively. Get on by and visit the most rapidly growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank. Independence Bank has started a revolution in the banking industry.

Owensboro Catholic’s senior QB’s season statistics from this, his senior season, are way too good to be true. How can anyone complete 246 of 348 passing attempts (completion percentage of .71264368) for 4,173 yards passing, 57 TDs, against only 5 interceptions. That is just crazy.

What is even crazier is that colleges aren’t just beating down the door for this nearly 6-2, 190-pounder who averaged 347.8 yards a night passing for one of 2A’s elite programs west of Louisville, Kentucky. What are we missing here? Is he an inch or two too short for you?

Well, Coach Lyon remembers a day not too long ago when what kind of football player a prospect was had more to do with his playing college football than whether he “looked” the part. It’s football, not runway modeling.

Getting off the soap-box, this 2020 QB, who was just awarded the Owensboro Times Player of the Year, has now completed an incredible prep football career. We don’t know where he ends up playing, but we do know it will be somewhere. Wherever he lands will be getting a winner and a player capable of just incredible levels of efficiency and performance.

Congratulations to Drew Hartz for his Revolutionary Play both in the past, and that which is to come when he reaches the next level, all of which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky…your friends at Independence Bank.

This is Coach HB Lyon, reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron and reminding you that WE’RE JUST CALLING IT LIKE WE SEE IT!
