Makers of the World's Finest Jerky Products

Larkey from a long line of football greats, adding to the surname’s luster

Okay, Christian Larkey is the son of Chris Larkey who is the son of the great, Tom Larkey, the finest coach to ever grace the football sidelines of “The Rock.” You know what else Christian Larkey is? He is a darn fine football player who contributes to his team in a multitude of ways.

Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.

Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.

…[S]omething different and superior to all other beef jerkies…

KPGFootball on the quality of Mingua’s product

Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.

Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed PerformerChristian Larkey (RB, FS, WR) from Mt. Vernon, Kentucky’s Rockcastle County High School, wouldn’t it?

Now this kid is in the family tree of one of Kentucky High School football’s first families. Tom Larkey is widely considered the greatest coach to ever stride the Rockcastle sideline and among the finest to have ever coached at the high school level throughout the commonwealth.

Christian Larkey hammers the nail in the coffin

Chris Larkey is quite a prospect and had quite a year for “The Rock” in ’22. Larkey is listed at 5’10,” weighing 170-pounds and primarily plays RB, though he plays the slot very well at WR too. He has the speed to align wide.

Larkey has been timed in the 40 at 4.50-seconds. He shuttles in 4.1-seconds (5-10-5), and bench presses 255-pounds. Larkey squats 415-pounds, possesses a 39-inch vertical leap, and broad jumps 121-inches; or, just a hair over ten (10)-feet.

Chris Larkey toting the note

Last season, Larkey had one of the better years running the football among all of the commonwealth’s running backs. We have seen him ranked 5th in the state and we have seen him ranked even higher.

Larkey gained 1,523-yards as a junior in 222-carries. He caught 14-passes for 243-yards and he scored 16-TD’s all on the ground. Larkey was the ball club’s top scorer with 98-points tallied over the club’s 11-games (4-7).

Defensively, Larkey was as outstanding. Larkey led the team in tackles (71), was among the leaders in TFL’s (3), threw in a sack, a FF, and a FR to completely stuff his defensive stat sheet.

We have awarded this to Larkey as we can’t fathom how any one student athlete could have possibly lent more value to any one team’s offensive and defensive efforts as Larkey did to the ’22 version of “The Rock’s” football program. On this basis, Mingua Beef Jerky and we decided this talented and accomplished ’24 RB, FS, WR could use a bolt of protein and a sweet T-shirt. The company volunteered to send that to him, straight away.

Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from all the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like The Rock’s, Christian Larkey.

This is HB Lyon reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron reminding you that WE’RE JUST CALLING IT LIKE WE SEE IT and don’t forget to SAVOR THE FLAVOR!
