Sam Davis from Frankfort High is a twin and named for a very significant historical figure, or so we think anyway. We really don’t know why his parents named him “Sam.” We do know this…this particular Sam Davis is a whale of a football player and hs played well enough for this week’s recognition and prize package. We believe Sam has some heroic football effort in his immediate future and these efforts will make the Panthers a much improved football team in ’22. Reed Jefferies from CAL is easy to overlook. After all, he is a diminutive 5’9″ and weighs a slightly built 150-pounds. Had to have been a surprise when he contributed as much as he did to both sides of the football for the Centurions a season ago, when he was a mere sophomore. We believe his best is still to come. Carson Greenwell is one of the better centers in the entire commonwealth and certainly in the central Kentucky area. His anchoring one of Kentucky’s more formidable fronts has garnered for the ’23 OL prospect a ton of college attention at multiple levels of competition. Where will he land? Who knows.
