George Radford was among the greatest the Trigg County Wildcats ever put on a gridiron, a baseball diamond, or even a hardwood court. He was also a college letterman in football, an accomplished student, who became a wonderful coach, teacher, administrator, and now a businessman and entrepreneur. This guy could do it all. One of our favorite songs used to proclaim loving “red necks, white sox, and blue ribbon beer.” The blue ribbon beer was a reference to Pabst Blue Ribbon, a famous brand of alcoholic beverage. We don’t know if the Pabst family who son is a stud ’27 football player in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky bears any type relation to the Pabst family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then again, we don’t know that they don’t. What we do know is Nathan Pabst is dad-burn good at football and he makes his team all the better when he contributes his considerable efforts. We selected BJ Evans to our Large School All-State Football Offense this past season as only a junior. Rushing for 1,799-yards on 194-carries, scoring 20-TDs and averaging 9.3-yards per carry against Lexington 6A competition will garner one some notice. What will Evans do for an encore? Challenge for the Mr. Football Award and a repeat appearance on our all-state team would be solid guesses. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky!

Thomas Sizemore is one of the more recognizable names playing football across Kentucky, especially in the ’28 graduating class. He had a tremendous freshman season and was selected an FBU, Freshman All-American for his efforts. Look for this guy to see more offensive deployment heading into the ’25 season. LCA routinely produces the finest college talent in the commonwealth in spite of playing at the 2A classification. As we have said umpteen time, where you compete (classification-wise) is pretty meaningless in Kentucky. In the KHSAA, we have good teams and not so good teams. Both types span all six (6) classes. Enjoy this look at a kid who has the name to go as far as he would like in the sport of football. He has the measurements and the skills too. Enjoy the feature.

JJ Austin is a workhorse for one of Kentucky’s premier programs. He leads the team in rushing, and rushing the football is what the Pirates do best. JJ is also more than a token defender.
