Most people thought Shelby Valley would emerge from the 8th-District as the champion in 2019. Well, most people couldn’t have been more in error. It was West Carter, at 9-4 in 2019, who went on to play Beechwood for the Regional Title. Well, 8th-district, bad news, the Comets return many key components in 2020. Enjoy the article. HB.

You Really don’t want to lose top-flight talent entering your ninth-grade. Not all ninth-graders are created equally. Some have the frame, polish, and skill set to help teams out quickly. Andrew Nason is one of those type ninth-graders. He has had excellent coaching, has a very polished skill-set, with an excellent frame and athleticism which would indicate early PT for one of 2024’s best football players. @AlexFarler, formerly @LchsLeslie has enrolled at Southwestern High School and practiced last night with @Southwestern_FB

This is a very solid pickup for Class 5A Southwestern High School in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Alex was an all-District performer a year ago and was one of the Eagles most reliable down-field receiving targets and one of its more capable coverage corners. He is a former “Team Kentuckian” so we know he possesses the ability to play the game at a very high level. He will need that ability because Southwestern has some “folks” to play in that very tough classification of competition. Enjoy the article. HB.

Sometimes we forget that not every kid comes in and slides straight into the Friday night lineup as a freshman. This is especially true at the 5A level of football in Kentucky. However, by year’s end we saw more and more of JT Adams patrolling the Colonel defense’s second level. Get ready, you will certainly see way more of that this year out of a kid we have consistently ranked among the top 2-3, 2023 LBs. Enjoy the article. HB.
