We are very pleased to welcome Lasaters Coffee & Tea to our growing family of advertisers. The Kelley family has a very long history in the local football industry and several of the Kelleys have had their numbers retired owing to their familial history of playing excellence. Football has been very good to their family and they look for ways to give back to this very special community. Lasaters is a place one goes to get caffeinated and motivated and couldn’t we all use a bit more of that invigoration in our daily routines. Get by one (1) of our four (4) Christian County, Kentucky locations and enjoy the roasted flavor of a hot cup of warmth and love.

Aiden Jesse comes from a Hopkinsville family which knows a thing or two about the receiver position. Father, Maurice, was a star WR in his day playing for the Hoptown Tigers. Son, Reece Jesse, set several all-time, receiving records in his day out wide for the Tigers. Little brother, Aiden Jesse, has been a terror and a star for the last edition of the Hoptown Tigers football team to ever take a playing field. You boys will be missed, know that! We just couldn’t say goodbye without one final tip of the hat to what was an incredible performance by Aiden Reece in the second round of the 6A, KHSAA football playoffs and the last game of football the Hoptown Tigers will ever play. Well done, young man.

Jayden Travis was among our top TEs in the commonwealth of Kentucky at the KHSAA level. We said it all year and this week it was proven by a coaching staff which is certainly in a position to know such things. Lindsay Wilson, a Mid-South Conference and NAIA powerhouse offered a “full ride” to the ’27 TE and member of the 2026 graduation class. We don’t know what he is going to do yet, but thought it certainly was worth winning a Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator Award. Enjoy this serial article awarding the Big Ass Fans “Kentucky Comfort Creator” to the big-bodied, athletic superstar.

We have covered this game, daily, 24/7, 365, since April of 2015. In all that time, there have been players who have hit us dead in the heart strings. When these guys have moved on to college football or out into the “real world,” it was as if a cherished member of the family had passed along to receive his ultimate reward. Sylas Gunn will be one of those for us. We started covering him in middle school at Webster County. We count ourselves fortunate to have been along for the ride through the transfer to Hopkins County Central, his rise to the varsity roster, and his ultimately becoming one of Central’s greatest, all-time, all-around football players. Along the way we have seen him become one of the KHSAA’s all-around, all-time football players. It has been a privilege, son.

James Bradley, Jr., and his Hoptown Tigers took the home field for the final time this past Friday night for the first round of the KHSAA, 6A, football playoffs. The Tigers rolled to a 50-20 gut punch to the Daviess County Panthers. Along the way, Bradley rushed for 223-yards on 20-carries, five (5) of which went for scores. What a game this kid had. Bradley scored 36-points on the night (5-TDs, and 3-two point conversions). Bradley even threw in three (3) tackles on defense. This football season is over for the Mustangs from Muhlenberg County. The ‘Stangs finished five up and five down, won the last game of the regular season (42-0), and head into the offseason with plenty about which to be excited concerning the direction of the football program, overall. There is talent in the ’28, ’29, and even the ’30 and ’31 classes. We take a look at whom did what down on the farm this season and what is returning for next fall in a tough, six-team, first district (5A) which features Owensboro Senior and Madisonville-North Hopkins at the top vying for supremacy both district-wide and Kentucky-wide. Enjoy.
