Chase Bell and Camden Page look to battle it out preseason for the QB-slot at South Warren vacated by Bryce Button’s graduation. South Warren is coming off a 12-2 season where it was arguably the second best team in 5A in ’24. Where will they figure into the 6A title chase? Well, we don’t know. We would suppose they will go as far as either Page or Bell carries them. Chase Bell is a ’28 guy with an incredible frame and athleticism so impressive Maryland has already offered. Bell’s frame and growth potential are carrying the day for him as he is our Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator this week. Let’s keep it cool out there KY.

Mark Peach is a high school coach who has met with considerable success along his career path. We have Peach with around 166-wins against 97-losses. We have him winning his region four (4) times and appearing in the state championship game twice, once at Hancock County in 1A (1999) and a second time at Anderson County in 5A (2011). Peach’s teams enjoyed a pair of undefeated regular seasons over his tenure. In addition, Peach developed and promoted a player, in Travis Atwell, into the coveted “Mr. Football” award and an appearance in the 1A title game after turning in a 12-3 mark and losing to Beechwood for the title. His name is Mason Griffin and he may be the best QB in the KHSAA with whom you might not be completely familiar. He is 6’4,” weighs 215-pounds and has a 4.0 GPA. Griffin plays for Next Up 7X7 and passed for 2,199-yards and 18-TDs his junior year in only 10-games of action. Griffin made his first team all-district squad and finds himself playing for a legendary head football coach in John Hines who has won over 200-career games. South Lauren is coming off a 6-win campaign and played in its first playoff game in years. Enjoy this feature about a young man whose star is on the rise and who may show up on some “Mr. Football” lists before all is said and done.

Marvin Dantzler has done it all from a stand point of coaching. He has won championships from Track & Field to football. He has trained plenty of tremendous athletes along the way. Add the name “Jalen Dantzler” to the list. Jalen is his son but he is much more than that. Jalen Dantzler is among the best DB prospects in the KHSAA’s class of 2027. He is a speedster who is athletic enough to be among the best long jumpers in the high school ranks. Dantzler is getting a ton of D-1 looks and we are flat looking and evaluating him too. Cameron Davis plays for one of the best football programs in the 4A classification across our great commonwealth. Paul Blazer High in Ashland is full of excellent athletes and the right men in place to lead them. Cameron Davis had a super junior year and may be a “Mr. Football” candidate in ’25 if he continues to improve along the same trajectory he has been improving. It is the offseason and Summer Drills are literally around the corner. This time of year, we are busy trying to forecast which teams will be in what races and which players may impact the season long, “Mr. Football” race. We love the country band “Diamond Rio” so much we couldn’t help but nickname Rio Litmer “Diamond Rio.” This guy may be slight of frame, but he has a ton of game. Litmer led Highlands to the 5A semis, which would gain you some leverage everywhere but where he is playing. The Bluebirds are hunting title number 24. Will it come this season?
