Parker Rudolph (’26) is a RB prospect who has the speed, power, and explosion (twitch) to play free or strong safety at the next level too. He can return kicks, punts, work the slot catching the ball, and use his backend separation speed and spacial quicks to gain a ton of after contact yardage. We tried to tell everyone Prestonsburg was back last year when the team posted 11-wins against 2-losses. Everyone got too caught up in P-burg’s late season loss to Breathitt, a Breathitt squad with a very young offensive backfield which had grown up quite a bit by the 1st of November. Anyway, Prestonsburg just beat the best team on its schedule in overcoming Hazard in Prestonsburg this pas Saturday. We identified Levi Clemmons as one of the best LBs in the KHSAA in his ’28 graduating class. We will stand by that prediction with this prospect entering his 10th-grade season a likely starter. That is why he made FBU’s “Top Gun” combine. That is why he made O-D’s Freshman All-American team. Coming into ’25, Clemmons figures to be on the list again provided of prime time linebackers provided he performs commensurate to how he is capable. This kid figures to start appearing on college recruiting boards really, really soon. This is a super freak athlete from the Appalachia mountains. His father, an attorney in Hazard, Kentucky, told us his vertical is slightly over 43-inches and that Gavin won’t stop till it tops 45. What that means is his reported 40-time of 4.58-seconds isn’t even close. Johnson is much, much faster than that! This kid is really a physical specimen and should be firmly in the “Mr. Football” race his senior year in spite of his playing 1A football. We have said this many times. There are good teams and bad teams in the KHSAA and they span all six (6) of Kentucky’s classifications. Enjoy this feature and let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky. We identified John Luke Minner as one of the best LBs in the KHSAA in 2024. That is why he made first team All-State on our Big Ass Fan’s Small School team. Coming into ’25 he figures to be on the list again provided he performs commensurate to how he performed a year ago. He has committed to play collegiately at Brown University in the Ivy Leagues. That is a Division I ride to one of the country’s most prestigious schools. If catching a ride to the Ivy Leagues isn’t prize worthy, we aren’t sure we know what is.
