Rylan Gillion came up big at (perhaps) the biggest game of the year. Covington Catholic, fresh off an improbable win over Kentucky’s very best football team at the high school level, rolled into Frankfort, Kentucky looking for its second road-upset of the playoffs. What they found was a mighty cool customer in Rylan Gillion. Gillion’s production may have accounted for the 14-10 margin in the Flyers’ favor. Santee Brock is a guy who started the year on the sidelines but has come out into the sunshine in the latter stages of the season in a big, big way. Max Pelfry has been “keeping it cool” around Kentucky for almost as long as Big Ass Fans. This guy has been among the best players at his position since his middle school All-Star days. His high school career has been everything we thought it would be and he would make an excellent “take” for a small college program looking to take on a next-level QB with all the skills. Kade Goodin is a ’27 guy we have been following for years. You may wonder how that is even possible? If we just covered HS, it probably wouldn’t be but we get on these guys in middle school and often follow them to college. This guy is a future Saturday player at a minimum. He has plus size, length, and athleticism. He is a two sport varsity athlete, also playing point guard in basketball, which is the QB of a basketball team. He is a QB for Collins but is projected to play WR at the next level. Enjoy the feature and let’s keep it cool out there Kentucky.
