Kameron Wilson is among the more versatile performers in the ’27 class Kameron Wilson is the leading rusher for the Caldwell County Tigers (6-2). That isn’t close to all he is. Wilson leads the club in TDs rushing, TDs receiving, average yards per carry (12+ per), and scoring (12.8 per […]

Storm Warning: Storm travels to Murray High coming off, maybe, its best performance of the season: @LasatersCoffee, @Ale8One, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @HopkinsCentral, @_CoachManning

The Storm will close with Murray High (7-0), and then Crittenden County (4-3). It would be nice to slip on Murray and catch them looking ahead to 6-2 Caldwell, but hard to count on that. Regardless, you have to take teams one at a time. Murray High team presents an opportunity to play an opponent who may out-talent us a bit but who can have a bad night as easily as the next guy. We need this game and are hoping our seniors can rise up and deliver it. Let’s get ready to car-pool to Murray, KY and cheer our boys onto victory. First read this…it will get you prepared for the road ahead.

We are very pleased to welcome Lasaters Coffee & Tea to our growing family of advertisers. The Kelley family has a very long history in the local football industry and several of the Kelleys have had their numbers retired owing to their familial history of playing excellence. Football has been very good to their family and they look for ways to give back to this very special community. Lasaters is a place one goes to get caffeinated and motivated and couldn’t we all use a bit more of that invigoration in our daily routines. Get by one (1) of our four (4) Christian County, Kentucky locations and enjoy the roasted flavor of a hot cup of warmth and love.

In 1973, country artist Johnny Russell released a classic song about rednecks, white sox, and blue ribbon beer. The “blue ribbon beer” Mr. Russell was referencing in the song written by Wayland Holyfield and Bob McDill was Pabst Blue Ribbon. We don’t know whether Nathan Pabst is descended from the Frederick Pabst for whom the beer was named but we do know the penchant Nathan Pabst has for rendering on the football field a blue ribbon performance. Well, Nathan rendered such a performance last Friday Night against Erlanger, KY’s St. Henry’s. St. Henry’s is new to KHSAA football. Lesson number one, done schedule trips to Fort Mitchell, KY unless you enjoy embarrassing “beat downs.” Enjoy this serial article awarding the Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator.

Madisonville rides balanced offensive attack to 7-0 record, takes next week off before critical closing stretch (Apollo, Owensboro Senior High, Warren Central)

October 4, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

We had a ton of Thursday Night action, so much that I published some “Thursday Night Picks” which I rarely do. I turned in a 12-1 on the night, perhaps I should change my name to “Thursday Night Fletch.” Just kidding. Madisonville ran its record to 7-0 for the first time since 1983 and Fort Campbell got its game with Trigg County rescheduled which was the right thing for Trigg to do as we can’t hold the kids at Fort Campbell accountable for a governmental shutdown. Hopefully, the gridlock will have been resolved by Halloween or thereabouts. Enjoy this look at the Madisonville-North Hopkins/Muhlenberg County game in this feature.

Storm Warning: Central drops a winnable road game in Russellville but has to turn it around quickly as 3A finalist from last year (Union County, 3-3) is headed for “The Gap” @LasatersCoffee, @Ale8One, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @HopkinsCentral, @_CoachManning

October 2, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

The Storm welcomes a district one heavyweight to Morton’s Gap this Friday night. Union County comes to Morton’s Gap fresh off a finals appearance in 2024 and a 21-14 win over a Hancock County team coming off an 8-win campaign a year ago and 4-1 entering the contest with Union last weekend. This is a daunting task but certainly not an undoable one. An upset here would be so huge. We have the personnel and ability to deliver such an upset but we have to be on our game, healthy, and playing mistake free/penalty free (pre-snap/composure) football to prevail. Come on out to Morton’s Gap this weekend and take in this first district clash. For all intents and purposes, the real season starts tomorrow night.

The Murray High Tigers have transformed under Head Coach Melvin Cunningham into a real Western Kentucky terror regardless of how large of an enrollment you may have at your disposal. The 3A juggernaut has just outlasted a 59-56 game against McCracken County and one of Kentucky’s more explosive offensive ball clubs. Wyatt Robbins (’26) is putting up “Gameboy” type numbers this season and Friday night was no different. His efforts, and the efforts of his teammates, have the Tigers sitting at 6-0 with four “winnable” games ahead. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

In the world of Kentucky high school football, a world about which we are undoubtedly familiar, the Trinity/St. Xavier game is often referred to as “The Game.” It is so big neither on campus stadium is viewed as sufficient to host the event. This is why it gets annually played at the stadium which hosts University of Louisville football games instead. This year neither team has lost a game to a Kentucky high school. That changes this weekend. We have taken a deep dive into the matchup, done our homework/research, and have forecast a winner. Let’s see how closely we get this or if we miss altogether. Enjoy the look at a “Bucket List” type event and game.

Gavin Johnson from Hazard off to fast start; braces for tough stretch run… @Gjohnson1418, @coach_chandler, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @Ale8One, @bigassfans, @KatherineL58069, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

We were watching Breathitt and Hazard play last Friday night on the Bluegrass Sports Nation. What stood out to us was the intricate way in which Coach Chandler and his crew utilized screens to chunk off yardage. There was one screen in particular where the ball was rifled to Gavin Johnson and he ran away from Breathitt’s back-third like they were being run in a plowed field. Talk about your “separation speed,” Johnson was showing it off and then some. The fact of the matter, as we approach mid-season, Gavin Johnson has amply demonstrated his being as good a multi-phase athlete as there is anywhere in Kentucky at the small school level (1A, 2A, and 3A). This kid will have to be discussed heading into next year as a possible “Mr. Football” candidate or my name isn’t “Friday Night Fletch.” We all know it is…
