@aidenj342 (Aiden Jones, ’23) from @CovCathFootball is a guy colleges have to be circling. @Finck589905 @CovCathFBAlumi @CovCathColonels @1776Bank @minguabeejferky @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @KyHighFootball

Football has taught [me] a lot, like you have to work for everything, working with teammates will help build relationships in the real world, and it taught me you have to make sacrifices for other people sometimes. It has just taught me who I am; a hard worker. It also helps to be able to get along with other people.

Aiden Jones to Holden Lester for his article “Diamond in the Rough: Aiden Jones”

Aiden Jones lists himself as a LB/TE. When you are 6’3,” weigh 225-pounds, and move like Aiden does you can pretty much call yourself whatever you like.

We can’t find statistical data in support of the TE, or at least we can’t see where he was targeted in the passing game. We have no doubt he lent value to the run-scheme offensively.

According to an interview Aiden Jones gave a recruiting specialist in a feature on a rival site which appeared in April 2021, Jones is a huge Michael Mayer fan and influenced greatly by him. Mayer is a great role model. The two are farmed out similarly.

Jones is very definitely a LBer. Jones had 83-stops a year ago, with 2-TFLs, 2.5-sacks, and a FR. Those are very good numbers toiling away on one of Kentucky’s very best rosters at any level of competition.

Covington Catholic was 9-4 a year ago. They got dropped by a couple of TDs in Versailles playing Woodford County in the Regional title game.

Most programs would love such a year. Covington Catholic isn’t most programs. The year, for Colonel faithful, was a complete disaster.

Aiden is an aggressive tackler who plays through the whistle. Jones scrapes well, works off blocks well, and shows a run stuffer’s patience coupled with the speed and quickness to close through gaps.

We believe Aiden is a next level prospect and he is already getting looks and making visits to power programs. Jones’ 3.9 GPA will insure he is a take at any level and in any league, Ivy included.

Don’t be surprised to see some service academies get involved here as well as members of the “Ancient 8.” Jones literally could play at any level of competition in college from the FBS on down.
