We are going to have to start calling them the “Heartbreak Wildcats” pretty soon if things don’t start trending differently. Trigg County has dropped consecutive, one-point defeats to the toughest of competition under very strange and almost lightening-striking-ish type situations. Still, the play the team is getting from its sophomore QB is extraordinary. Cade Scott is a superlatively good, three sport, varsity athlete who excels at FB (QB), basketball (SG), and baseball (OF/LHP). He is completing nearly 75% of his passing attempts and putting the offense in situations where it should and, often has, thrived. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Not all games are played on Friday Nights. Increasingly, games are being showcased on Saturdays and even Thursdays. Hoptown is entertaining a public school from Chicago, Illinois tonight. It is the Prosser Career Academy and the Falcons enter the game 1-0 on the young season. Hoptown (1-1) looks to be more than the Falcons can handle on paper at least and we like the Tigers by a sizable margin over the visiting team from Chi-Town. Enjoy this bit of Saturday Night special.

There is something in the water around Bell County which makes 5’9,” 205-pound RBs who run for a bigilloin yards grow on trees. Remember Daniel Thomas who won the coveted “Mr. Football” Award a few years ago? Coach Hilton has him another tough as nails, unassuming looking thoroughbred, running rough-shod over defenses again in ’25. His name is Kaleb Miller, he is 5’9,” 205-pound RB who gained 2,100 yards as a junior and was selected to the All-State, first team. Miller is at it again, as he already is averaging over 155-yards a game through his first two and leading the ball club with 34-points comprised of five (5) rushing TDs and a pair of two-pointers. Bell County is off to a fast start and has played (already) two of the more talented teams it will face this year on the road at Campbellsville and on the road at Perry County Central, winning both. Like we have done in prior seasons, now the games are finally here, we will take the last week’s action and break it down and then look at the road ahead. We had quite the successful road trip to Elkton, KY this past Friday night and North Hopkins visiting Morton’s Gap means the sledding will get much harder; certainly not any easier. North arrives with an enviable roster which includes plenty of All-State caliber players and even a Mr. Football frontrunner if your math is correct. Enjoy this feature and get out to the games this weekend. Remember, your hometown heroes need a little help from you! See you at the game!
