We get requests more frequently than you might think. However, there are requests and then there are requests from legendary football coaches like Mike Holcomb. I am sorry and this might not be fair but a request from Holcomb is going to carry a little more weight around KPGFootball than a requested from Boo-Boo’s mom. We identified John Luke Minner as one of the best LBs in the KHSAA in 2024. That is why he made first team All-State on our Big Ass Fan’s Small School team. Coming into ’25 he figures to be on the list again provided he performs commensurate to how he performed a year ago. He has committed to play collegiately at Brown University in the Ivy Leagues. That is a Division I ride to one of the country’s most prestigious schools. If catching a ride to the Ivy Leagues isn’t prize worthy, we aren’t sure we know what is. The high school game is a game where we don’t see a ton of 6’5,” 225-pound lineman, but we are generally excited when we do. This is a kid who excelled, this offseason, at powerlifting and that is generally a very good sign. These two guys will meet on October 25, 2025 in Hazard, Kentucky and there figures to be plenty on the line. North Hopkins is big, fast, mobile, strong, powerful, and explosive all over the field on both sides of the scrimmage line. This is especially true upfront offensively. “The Bigs” don’t ever get enough credit in our humble opinion. Credit or no credit, North figures to have a RB in the thick of a “Mr. Football” race in 2025.
