“Mr. Football” gets annually awarded to the very best football player in the high school game from across Kentucky. It is almost always awarded to a senior. Daniel Thomas (’24), from Bell County, is eerily reminiscent of Isaac Dixon from a few years back who won “Mr. Football” himself. Thomas may be the odds-on favorite for this year’s distinction for what he does for the offense AND what he lends to the defens. Enjoy this feature. FL.

This article is about a group of kids who are rising above, sit at 5-0 entering a game with CAL and having already beaten both South Warren and Taft High (OH). The Colonels limped through the non-conference slate emerging 0-2. They drew a tough assignment in having to travel to Memphis and battle a 2-0 Rhodes team riding a 3-0 win streak to include beating Birmingham Southern 20-3 back in November of 2022. Jack Gohmann drew the assignment and proved himself to be equal to the task. Enjoy the feature!

After last night’s 22-point loss to Union County, the remaining five games are games the Storm is capable of winning. It will take a Herculean effort to run the table (5-0) but we have the talent and ability to do just that. A 7-3 finish would put us in the number 2 slot in district 1 and assure us a couple home playoff games. This may be shaping up to be quite the year. FL.

We call him “Ca$H Money” around our offices. Caden Scott, a ’28 prospect at QB for Trigg County Middle, is an exceptional athlete who can make all the throws and move around the pocket sufficiently to work himself free from the pass rush. This is a kid who would challenge for first-team reps at a lot of high schools if 8th-graders were permitted to play up on varsity by KHSAA rule. Enjoy the feature. FL.

This week’s Revolutionary Player of the Week is Tel Tel Long (No relation, but we would be proud to claim him) from Bowling Green’s Greenwood High. The ’24 RB is fast becoming one of the more talked about offensive weapons in Kentucky’s western end. He seems to have drawn considerable interest and his teammates and he have Greenwood wondering how far this ride might last this coming playoff circuit. Enjoy the feature. FL.

How does a team which only averaged under 10-points a game a year ago and threw a whopping 18-picks rebound to averaging 48.5-points a game, over the first four, and throw for 502-yards with 7-TDs and no INT’s in a single game?
