East Robertson’s Ian McKinzie (c/o 2022) is the Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week…

August 23, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

This Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week is Ian McKinzie, a 2022 player at East Robertson High School who helps along the offensive line at guard which is, really, the very backbone of any high school football team. Enjoy this look at a guy ready to “come into his own” along the Indian’s offensive front in 2019 blocking for Cameron Swift and the boys as they open with Forrest High School tonight on the road in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Join us again next week as we look to recognize another of Robertson County’s worthy players.

Bowling Green’s Bridger Knee (Class of 2022, @bridger_knee) getting ready to tear it up…

August 22, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

There are predictions of which you are so sure you want to remind everyone of what you before said just so they won’t forget where they first heard it. In January of 2019, we predicted Bridger Knee would be a day one, snap one defensive, down-lineman starter for the Purples in 2019. On the brink of kickoff, we thought we would remind everyone what we said in January. That’s how confident we are in our being right (and first). Enjoy this look at Old No. 59, Bridger Knee, Class of 2022. Featured photograph lifted from Bridger Knee’s Twitter page (@bridger_knee).

Meanwhile, down on the Farm…

August 21, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

They call minor league teams supplying the majors with talent a “Farm system.” You will see writers who cover MLB talk about news “Down on the Farm.” We have borrowed from that principal for this weekly segment on outstanding performances from middle school stars who will shortly be starring on Friday night. Believe me, their time will be here before you can possibly. believe. Enjoy this regular, in-season, look at what is going on down on the farm. HB.

Saturday Night’s Weekly Winners…

August 19, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

We picked our Friday night “Winners” two days ago. We promised we would come back as the weekend drew nigher and pick the Saturday “Winners” too. Now we have done just that. Let the debate rage.

It’s time for weekly winners…here are some of our predictions concerning games of interest to kick-off August 23rd…

August 18, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Throughout the season we pick weekly winners. It was one of our more popular segments a year ago. This year we will decide which games we cover based on our “hits.” Read us, you get covered. Ignore us, we ignore you. These are some Friday night match-ups in areas where we get a lot of views. We will come back in and pick some interesting Saturday night games later in the week.

With Feese’s transfer to Russell, this is one time the Feese family won’t be answering the Indian’s smoke signals for help!

August 17, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

With the season right upon us, we like looking at the freshman from around the commonwealth of Kentucky we think will see the field early. We think Colton Feese is someone sure to hit the field early and probably at QB with the departure of senior Grant Wilburn from Russell last season, and possibly immediately. They really are going to need help at QB for Russell to experience the same type season it enjoyed in 2018 this coming year. When Columbians look to find football players, the Feese family used to always answer the Indians’ call. This time around it will be the Red Devils from Russell Springs, Kentucky hitting the Feese jackpot.

Class of 2021’s Austyn Day, Springfield High School, is the Stewart Williams Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week

August 16, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

This Stewart Williams Company Robertson County Player of the Week is Austyn Day, a 2021 player at Springfield High School who gets to be the most popular player on this or any team. However, he is one step away from being on the field full-time and the junior has gotten plenty of prep-time in SHS’s scrimmages. Enjoy this look at Springfield’s second string QB and join us next week as we look to recognize another Robertson County worthy player.

Hopkinsville’s Denarius “Red” Barnes (2020) is the Meeks & Meeks Montgomery County area Player of the Week

August 16, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

Red Barnes has been a favorite of ours since he transferred to HHS from Wonder Junior High in West Memphis, Arkansas to play his sophomore season. He is one of the best defensive linemen in the Class of 2020 and one of its leading citizens too. This is a kid who we believe is a college football player (no doubt) but isn’t likely to be positioned in college where the Tigers have deployed him. The fact he has thrived along an even defensive front, though undersized, buttresses everything good about his ability we have consistently maintained. This kid is a winner and a player who makes teams for which he plays better teams. Can’t complement any young player anymore than that. Enjoy the article.
