Tristin Dillard ’27 RB/LB from CCHS is the Lasaters Coffee & Tea Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week @CoachAtchley @AlPopsFootball @ColonelFootball @ReallyTristin @bigassfans, @HenryMi74881410, @HopHighTigers, @ColonelFootball, @FC_FALCONS_FB

Lasaters...time to wake up and smell the coffee!

It is critically important to recruit athletes to play football who have a varied and vast skill set. Griffen Meachem is one of those guys who contributes to more than just one sport. Like Madisonville’s Ryan Sandidge, Meachem is a top flight baseball player in addition to his contributions on the football field. The best part is…Meachem’s just a sophomore. This guy will just continue to improve as he physically and anatomically develops.

Hopkinsville, KY: Tristin Dillard is a real double threat guy for the Colonels’s football program. Not only is he among the leading rushers and tacklers, he is also a 4.0-GPA guy who anticipates going to college, majoring in pre-med, and becoming a medical doctor.

Tristin is the younger brother of former football standout and college RB, JaTorian Dillard. Torian has graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan and has matured into a standout member of our local community in addition to his being among the better RBs to ever play here locally.

When it is a “Dillard” laying out for us future plans, we don’t question anything they tell us they intend to accomplish. The sky has always been the limit for that family. Good rearing, we would suppose, is the root of the success for the Dillard family.

Dillard is a kid who came out of the middle school ranks very celebrated. Football University had him as the number two RB, Kentucky wide, among ’27s when the kid was an eighth grader.

Friday Night, Dillard and his teammates get a tough McKenzie Team (TN), 1-1 on the year

Friday Night Fletch

Dillard and his teammates have had a rough go of it through the first two games. County dropped its opener to Clarksville Northeast, 40-28, in a score where six (6) TOs contributed mostly to the margin. County dropped game two to Mayfield, 55-0. Mayfield benefited from a housed KO return to open the game and three (3) pick-sixes to lend itself greatly to the run-away, 55-point, margin.

The Colonels will get McKenzie High Rebels this coming Friday Night (September 5, 2025). The Rebels are 1-1, having dropped its opener to Huntington, 41-21, and then beating Dresden, 44-7. McKenzie was 13-1 in ’24 losing in the semis to Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering, a 14-game winner and TSSAA finalist from a year ago.

For the Colonels to have any chance at home, at all, the Colonels will need a big, big game, and on both sides of the football, from its likely Valedictorian of the ’27 graduating class at the “new, consolidated” high school, Tristen Dillard. Lord knows, this community has turned to the Dillards to bail us out many, many times before now.

Identifying a potential weapon like Tristin Dillard should certainly help. That is why Tristin Dillard is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week.
