Luis Lira, from Calloway County, is our Bank of Cadiz featured player @CClakerfootball, @Coach_CobyLewis, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Luis Ira is a ’26 left guard who was an unsung hero for his Laker ball club which experienced, under first year head football coach, Coby Lewis quite the remarkable turnaround. The Lakers went from winless in ’24 to six (6) wins in ’25 and proved a competitive spirit along the way. People around this program are excited about the strides it is making in a city (Murray, KY) getting known as a hotbed of football competitiveness on Kentucky’s western end. Enjoy the feature.

Friday Night Fletch.

Caden Scott, ’28 QB, will make significant strides in ’26 and is our Bank of Cadiz featured Wildcat! @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @KatherineL58069

We are in the midst or our offseason coverage. What happens during the offseason will have an impact on what the Wildcats do in ’26. We are thrilled the Bank of Cadiz is going to continue to sponsor content for the magazine in 2026. They are making an investment in the families and athletes populating the areas our bank services. Enjoy this look at this young star player and how this offseason will factor heavily into how he plays for his team next year.

Bank of Cadiz is proud of its All-Staters! @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @KatherineL58069

The Bank of Cadiz is very proud of its former in-season, Players of the Week who also made one of Kentucky’s more prestigious All-State Football teams. The Big Ass Fans team, which has a small school and large school component is the most thorough and well defended all state football team in the KHSAA. This validates our PoW selections. Validation is grand! Enjoy the article from your friends at the Bank of Cadiz.

Bryce Huseman is a guy who only got run his sophomore year in eight games. That notwithstanding, the kid had one heck of a year and studded out statistically in many critical categories. For the Trigg County Wildcats to reach the program’s full potential, the program will have to harness and develop more talent like Huseman. This offseason will be absolutely critical in regard to that goal. Sometimes your most demonstrative acts of excellence occur when you least expect it, perpetrated by people you might least suspect capable of such heroics. It has been no secret Trigg County has been hampered throwing the football without QBs, Caden Scott (’28) and Timmy Williams (’28) (who may not be listed as a QB but can play it). Well, out of literally nowhere, Deon Edison had the “great idea” to pull off the perfect “jump pass,” taking his turn behind center, to a streaking Connor Bellows (’27) who then avoided a tackle in the open field and raced 61-yards into the end zone for a TD. It went south from there, but Bellows’s heroics were still (In our minds) worthy of celebration. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Trigg County hasn’t played a football game since Crittenden County on September 26. One of the weeks was an “off week,” while the other (a game with Fort Campbell shelved because of the government shutdown) has been rescheduled for October 30. In any event, it has been a while. In the interim it is hoped Trigg may get some of the roster healed up and ready for action. Trigg County will get Mighty Mayfield at Perdue Field in Cadiz this coming weekend and that will be as tough as it sounds. Ahmari “Double A” Alexander has been playing like “Alexander the Great” so far this season. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

The Murray High Tigers have transformed under Head Coach Melvin Cunningham into a real Western Kentucky terror regardless of how large (or small) of an enrollment he may have at his disposal. The 3A juggernaut has just outlasted posted a 56-0 over Webster County and barely broke a sweat running its record to 7-0 heading into the bye-week. Amarion Bomar (’26) averaged over 25-yards a carry Friday night and house 50% of his opportunities. Couple his offense with what he has done this season out of the backfield on passing “check-downs” and defensively and you have quite a weapon. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

The Murray High Tigers have transformed under Head Coach Melvin Cunningham into a real Western Kentucky terror regardless of how large of an enrollment you may have at your disposal. The 3A juggernaut has just outlasted a 59-56 game against McCracken County and one of Kentucky’s more explosive offensive ball clubs. Wyatt Robbins (’26) is putting up “Gameboy” type numbers this season and Friday night was no different. His efforts, and the efforts of his teammates, have the Tigers sitting at 6-0 with four “winnable” games ahead. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

We warned people beating 6A Hoptown would be challenge if Devaree Gude played. Without Gude, we picked Hoptown to win by 28…and they won by 27. Well, you know the Bank of Cadiz has a Hoptown branch and Tremayne Clay, from Hoptown High, had an extraordinary game against the Trigg County Wildcats. We thought since he did, we would reward his effort. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

We are going to have to start calling them the “Heartbreak Wildcats” pretty soon if things don’t start trending differently. Trigg County has dropped consecutive, one-point defeats to the toughest of competition under very strange and almost lightening-striking-ish type situations. Still, the play the team is getting from its sophomore QB is extraordinary. Cade Scott is a superlatively good, three sport, varsity athlete who excels at FB (QB), basketball (SG), and baseball (OF/LHP). He is completing nearly 75% of his passing attempts and putting the offense in situations where it should and, often has, thrived. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.
