I once heard having an accomplished place kicker in the fold likened to finding a $20.00 bill in your dry cleaning. You may not know you even need $20.00 but it comes in handy when you are both hungry and thirsty and you find what you need just sitting in your pocket. Jayden Couch is not just an accomplished placekicker who converted just under 80% of his PATs and was 100% on FGs but he is a freshman to boot. It must be something to realize your kicking game is so competently handled and looks to remain so for the foreseeable future. The Kelleys have generously bought some tickets, at $10 per, for worthy high school kids in need of support to get to see the last game the Hoptown Tigers will ever play in Hopkinsville, KY. When we say “some tickets,” we’re talking 500 of them. For all the years I have known this couple and Steven in particular (51-years), that is just “The Kelleys.” Kind, faithful, Christian, generous; who would have thought I would come to admire so steadfastly the six year old kid who mowed me down at home plate in a pee-wee league, underhand pitch, baseball game in 1974. Who would have thought it in deed. Enjoy the article!

We had a ton of Thursday Night action, so much that I published some “Thursday Night Picks” which I rarely do. I turned in a 12-1 on the night, perhaps I should change my name to “Thursday Night Fletch.” Just kidding. Madisonville ran its record to 7-0 for the first time since 1983 and Fort Campbell got its game with Trigg County rescheduled which was the right thing for Trigg to do as we can’t hold the kids at Fort Campbell accountable for a governmental shutdown. Hopefully, the gridlock will have been resolved by Halloween or thereabouts. Enjoy this look at the Madisonville-North Hopkins/Muhlenberg County game in this feature.
