For our money, no one in the KHSAA does a much better job coaching a high school program at the 4A level than Franklin County’s Eddie James. His teams are yearly in contention and develop some of the KHSAA’s better next level talent. A guy who made our Lasaters Nifty Nichols preseason squad is Knox Barrett, a 6’3,” 195-pound, ’28 QB. Barrett has the stature the position craves and enviable on-field performance and production. Perhaps most importantly is the fact the Flyers win and routinely make deep, deep playoff runs. Their time for the title is coming on and it won’t be much longer before Coach James and his crew find themselves in the winner’s circle. Knox Barrett is the kind of QB who can make those dreams a reality. Enjoy this feature.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we present you the Big Ass Fans, Large School, All-State Football Team

We will start out this all-state team with an admonition with which we begin every team we have ever published. We will miss on some guys. It is just important to note that your son not making our team doesn’t mean he wasn’t an all-state caliber player. Also, we expressly reserve the right to re-enter the team, even after it is published, and add worthy players who may have been missed or accidentally omitted. That being said, our small and large school All-State football teams, sponsored by Big Ass Fans, are the most expansive and complete teams in the business. This team here, and the coaches’s team published by the “Courier Journal,” are the only two legitimate teams in existence and we believe our team to be much more complete and legitimate than even theirs. Congratulations to the players who made the team and congratulations to the wonderful world of Kentucky high school football for providing us with the endless thrills and discussions we net from our following this, the greatest game on earth.
