Bucket List Game, Trinity and Saint Xavier square off in Louisville this weekend @eCampusdotcom, @TrinityHSFB, @stxtigers, @CoachKWallace, @840WHAS, @FitzOn840WHAS, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans

In the world of Kentucky high school football, a world about which we are undoubtedly familiar, the Trinity/St. Xavier game is often referred to as “The Game.” It is so big neither on campus stadium is viewed as sufficient to host the event. This is why it gets annually played at the stadium which hosts University of Louisville football games instead. This year neither team has lost a game to a Kentucky high school. That changes this weekend. We have taken a deep dive into the matchup, done our homework/research, and have forecast a winner. Let’s see how closely we get this or if we miss altogether. Enjoy the look at a “Bucket List” type event and game.

We are very pleased to welcome Lasaters Coffee & Tea to our growing family of advertisers. The Kelley family has a very long history in the local football industry and several of the Kelleys have had their numbers retired owing to their familial history of playing excellence. Football has been very good to their family and they look for ways to give back to this very special community. Lasaters is a place one goes to get caffeinated and motivated and couldn’t we all use a bit more of that invigoration in our daily routines. Get by one (1) of our four (4) Christian County, Kentucky locations and enjoy the roasted flavor of a hot cup of warmth and love.

Very quietly, almost without notice, Coby Lewis, in his first season at the helm of the Lakers, is turning in a whale of a season and turning a lot of heads around the commonwealth in coaching circles. He has “The Lakers” out to a 4-1 start, the best start it started the 2016 season with a 6-1 record and one of Western Kentucky’s great defensive units. This week’s Player of the Week, Logan Smith, enjoyed just a spectacular game, but then again, he has been doing things like this his entire Laker career. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Brody Hicks (’28 TE/DE) from Prestonsburg is the Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @PrestonsburgHS, @BoysGirls13th, @Wes_Hager, @Ale8One, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball

We thought we would dip in and cover a final Blackcat before we move along from Prestonsburg. P-burg doesn’t get enough coverage owing to being a small enrollment high school in an isolated and remote part of the commonwealth of Kentucky. At Big Ass Fans, we reach out and impact all parts of Kentucky, large or small, wherever we are needed. Brody Hicks is having a fine season particularly for a sophomore, two way player on an undefeated, contending football team, so we thought we would honor him today. Enjoy this look at Brody Hicks, our Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator!

Hopkinsville High entertains Prosser Career Academy (Chicago, IL) Saturday Night @KatherineL58069, @bigassfans, @Ale8One, @HopHighTigers, @Prosser_FB

Not all games are played on Friday Nights. Increasingly, games are being showcased on Saturdays and even Thursdays. Hoptown is entertaining a public school from Chicago, Illinois tonight. It is the Prosser Career Academy and the Falcons enter the game 1-0 on the young season. Hoptown (1-1) looks to be more than the Falcons can handle on paper at least and we like the Tigers by a sizable margin over the visiting team from Chi-Town. Enjoy this bit of Saturday Night special.

Storm Warning: Central gets back on track with fruitful trip to Todd County; braces for visit from North Hopkins @LasatersCoffee, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @HopkinsCentral, @_CoachManning

Like we have done in prior seasons, now the games are finally here, we will take the last week’s action and break it down and then look at the road ahead. We had quite the successful road trip to Elkton, KY this past Friday night and North Hopkins visiting Morton’s Gap means the sledding will get much harder; certainly not any easier. North arrives with an enviable roster which includes plenty of All-State caliber players and even a Mr. Football frontrunner if your math is correct. Enjoy this feature and get out to the games this weekend. Remember, your hometown heroes need a little help from you! See you at the game!

We have a radio/podcast which is among the highest rated shows of its type across the commonwealth (Friday Night, Kentucky). Having a talent like, Scott Fitzgerald, to host the show with me is the real key to our success. When we convene this weekend, we will discuss some of these games and you will know whether I was right or wrong in my forecasts. Enjoy this “behind the scenes” look at the level of preparation it takes to produce the show you hear weekly.

Pikeville’s Mikey Hager flying against Christian Academy-Louisville…maybe the commonwealth’s fastest player @PikevilleHSFB, @CSS_TRAINING, @PrepRedzoneKY, @LippertScouting, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball

August 30, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Christian Academy-Louisville opened with Pikeville High at home and won the game 45-7. That is nice and all but it wasn’t the most significant occurrence on the field on the night in question. If you don’t believe us ask Reel Analytics. In their “Fastest Man” challenge, Pikeville’s Mikey Hager achieved a speed of 20.7 MPH in chasing down CAL RB, Jeffrey Vanzzana, who was traipsing down the sideline toward a score at the time. The ability to run down plays the rest or the team has given up on catching is a very recruitable attribute for college third level defenders. Enjoy this look at a kid on everyone’s radar.
