Are the Lions grooming Tyson McCray to play QB? @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball,
Every football team has a star player regardless of the degree to which the team has struggled in any one season. The same is true of the Lewis County Lions. Coach Dalton Stamm has a young freshman in Tyson McCray they believe will round into an effective QB, has played the position in JV and for the scout team, but who is presently a three-phase performer who has carried the ball from scrimmage, caught a handful of passes, and has registered 27-tackles, registered a pair of sacks, registered a pair of INTs, and accumulated 55-IRNYs on defense all over 10-games of run as a freshman. Not a ton of freshmen hit the Friday Night Field in 3A, District 6. With in-district toughies like Russell and East Carter looming, what McCray got done in ’25 is even more impressive. No telling what this kid might do when he fully, physically matures.
