Ever heard of the catbird seat? It is called “sitting pretty” and that is exactly where Camden Page appears to have his South Warren Spartans sitting entering tonight’s regional championship game with Henderson County (6-6). Page is having a tremendous season and completing close to 73% of his passing attempts with a four to one, TDs to INTs ratio. We call that efficiency. The most important part of the equation is Page having his team sitting undefeated with the highest RPI in the 6A classification. Can the Spartans win a 6A title their first year in the classification? Well, Page has them in the “catbird seat,” that is for sure. South Warren has some of the best talent rostered anywhere in the KHSAA at any level of competition. This coming year should be no different. The Spartans are 6A, instead of 5A, this season but the argument can be made the trek through 5A on the western end of the commonwealth is at least as daunting as 6A if not a little mores (Louisville excluded). Either way, this Malik Butler is the real-freaking deal. Enjoy this feature about a kid we featured before when he was still playing football at Franklin-Simpson. This kid can do it.

Chase Bell and Camden Page look to battle it out preseason for the QB-slot at South Warren vacated by Bryce Button’s graduation. South Warren is coming off a 12-2 season where it was arguably the second best team in 5A in ’24. Where will they figure into the 6A title chase? Well, we don’t know. We would suppose they will go as far as either Page or Bell carries them. Chase Bell is a ’28 guy with an incredible frame and athleticism so impressive Maryland has already offered. Bell’s frame and growth potential are carrying the day for him as he is our Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator this week. Let’s keep it cool out there KY.
