Centre hung around with nationally ranked Trinity University before giving way to miscues, BSU is next. @d3football @CentreFootball @BSCFootball @TUFootballTX

Well, yesterday against Tinity began promisingly but we were sort of in like a lion and out like a lamb. Still, one could see that there is a very thin line from where Centre is as a program and where it is going. We need to eliminate mistakes and take better car of the football, but should we, one can easily see conference championships and NCAA runs in the program’s future.

Centre drops heart breaker in new home; Colonels still ‘Alive and Well’ in SAA-Title Hunt! @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @CentreFootball

We lost a heartbreaker yesterday to a team to which we hate to lose. We probably don’t have a sterner rival in the conference than Berry College. Still, Centre doesn’t have time to mourn a tough loss. The trip to Conway, Arkansas is on the immediate horizon and we still hold our own destiny in our hands as we will explain in this article. Enjoy. HB.

Centre and Sewanee renewed what has to be the oldest rivalry in the SAA if not the entire NCAA, Division III. This newest entry in the series was an exciting one and a game where Centre’s execution began to look like it has to look for Centre to be ready for the challenges which lie ahead. Enjoy this recap of the Sewanee game and a look ahead to the challenges presented by Berry College. HB.

Centre’s Defense Saves the Day, Colonels push record to 3-1 with road win over Rhodes, Sewanee has ‘Next.’ @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @CentreFootball

The Centre Colonels raised its record to 3-1 with a road loss to a very good Trine team its only blemish. Still, proponents of offensive football have to be concerned with how Centre is performing as the team just keeps imploding offensively. Can the defense continue to carry the ball club into the winner’s circle? Well, that is the $64 question, no isn’t it? HB.

Centre College goes down in Angola, IN and now must ‘turn things around’ for a trip to the Bluff City. @CentreFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank

Well, the Colonels put together 4-Quarters on Saturday, just not the brand of 4-Quarter play Centre fans were hoping to see. Saturday we saw four entire quarters of offensive ineptitude. Trine was a tough out a year ago at home in Danville, Kentucky. This year, in Angola, Indiana, there were perfectly insurmountable. We have no time for idle sympathy as in-conference opponent Rhodes College is salivating waiting for our arrival in Memphis, Tennessee October 1. We better come loaded and ready for Lynx or it could turn into a second consecutive ‘long afternoon.’ HB.

Centre Football escapes Indiana 1-0, beats Hanover 31-29. Maryville College calls, ‘Next!’ @CentreFootball @HanoverFTBL @MCScotsFootball @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank

Centre escaped Hanover, Indiana with a win. That was about as positive as we can be about a performance which gives us plenty of mistakes to study and correct. Coaches say teams experience the most growth between the first and second games, particularly in college football. Colonel fans must “pray” that rings true or we may not be as lucky outcome wise as we were with the Panthers in Indiana. Enjoy the scout. HB.
