Silas Sandusky, Trimble County, as versatile and talented as they come @TrimbleGameDay, @NCKCathletics, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @eCampusdotcom, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee

January 24, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

There are good players on every roster in the commonwealth of Kentucky competing in the sport of football. Silas Sandusky is an example of this principle. If you look at the percentage of production he has contributed to his team’s bottom line in 2025, it is hard to believe he was only a sophomore. Sandusky is the kind of kid this publication exists to find and feature. If we don’t tell you about him, the chances his story will ever be heard is exceedingly remote. You’re welcome.

We heard a player described by a coach who had offered him as a “Football Playing Jesse.” We looked that term up and, what do you know, it really is a thing. A “Football Playing Jesse” is a guy who may not be the right frame, may be a tad small, or a tad slow, or whatever but is just a guy who “does it” when he gets o the field between the lines and under the lights. Today we feature a kid who is as Football Playing of a Jesse as any kid in the KHSAA. Enjoy this look at one of the best football players the commonwealth of Kentucky has competition at any level of competition.

Kenyon Cunningham, from Murray High, is our Bank of Cadiz featured player @KenyonCunn61547, @MurrayTigers, @MLT_Sports, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Kenyon Cunningham is a kid with a ton athletic ability and potential who was put in a very tough spot for any freshman both in the semi-state and then in the championship game. He will be called on to be “The Man” going forward as senior Wyatt Robbins has exhausted his eligibility and is headed to play football for the Murray State Racers. Cunningham is a ranked basketball prospect in the commonwealth among ’29s and is already enjoying success as a varsity basketball player on a 12-2 ball club. Cunningham is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him. Enjoy the feature.

Mighty Mayfield will look to England to get back on track in 2026 @MayfieldSchools, @Josiahzay777, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @eCampusdotcom, @bigassfans

England once had an empire so fast the sun never set on it. This article is NOT about that England, it is about the Josiah England who may be the best returning RB/Corner in the KHSAA’s ’27 graduating class. Both Englands are thought of as leaders and noted for excellent performance. In this feature we will take a look at a player who’s junior season was cut short by injury but who showed us, as a sophomore, exactly of what he was capable. England is among the more coveted prospects in his graduating class and a bone fide, D-1 prospect. It will be entirely interesting to see how far he can take this Mayfield club provided he stays healthy in ’26. Enjoy the feature.

Bryce Huseman is a guy who only got run his sophomore year in eight games. That notwithstanding, the kid had one heck of a year and studded out statistically in many critical categories. For the Trigg County Wildcats to reach the program’s full potential, the program will have to harness and develop more talent like Huseman. This offseason will be absolutely critical in regard to that goal. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star from your friends and neighbors at the Bank of Cadiz.

We warned people beating 6A Hoptown would be challenge if Devaree Gude played. Without Gude, we picked Hoptown to win by 28…and they won by 27. Well, you know the Bank of Cadiz has a Hoptown branch and Tremayne Clay, from Hoptown High, had an extraordinary game against the Trigg County Wildcats. We thought since he did, we would reward his effort. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Kain Patton (’26 RB) from Prestonsburg is the Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @PrestonsburgHS, @BoysGirls13th, @Wes_Hager, @Ale8One, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball

We tried to tell everyone Prestonsburg was back last year when the team posted 11-wins against 2-losses. Everyone got too caught up in P-burg’s late season loss to Breathitt, a Breathitt squad with a very young offensive backfield which had grown up quite a bit by the 1st of November. Anyway, Prestonsburg just beat the best team on its schedule in overcoming Hazard in Prestonsburg this pas Saturday. We don’t see many teams among th remaining seven (7) able to play with the Blackcats. 10-0, here they come. Enjoy this look at Kain Patton, our Big Ass Fans Kentucky Comfort Creator!

Storm Warning: Central suffers North Hopkins headache but has little time for rebounding as Fort Campbell welcomes Central to Fryar Stadium on a heater @LasatersCoffee, @Ale8One, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @HopkinsCentral, @_CoachManning

September 11, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Like we have done in prior seasons, now the games are finally here, we will take the last week’s action and break it down and then look at the road ahead. We had a slight misstep at home with North Hopkins this past Friday night and the trip to Fryar Stadium to play Fort Campbell means the sledding will not get much easier. Fort Campbell has made some personnel reassignments which should make the team harder than the one the staff has seen on film. Enjoy this feature and get out to the games this weekend. Remember, your hometown heroes need a little help from you! See you at the game!
