I realize Eric Herring, Jr. was just recently awarded this distinction in early September, but man-oh-man did Mr. Herring have himself a night against Clay County. Jo Byrns ended up beating Clay County 39-20 on the evening to run its seasonal record to 3-3 and dropping Clay County to 3-4. Much of the credit for the win has to be attributed to the outstanding blocking by the Jo Byrns’ offensive front and the hard, down-hill running by Eric Herring, Jr. Herring is a Class of 2019 RB/CB who is listed at 5-11 and 175 pounds but looks much larger than that, on film, as a testament to his hard-nosed running style and ability. Against Clay County, by KPGFootball’s count, Herring had nearly 200 yards rushing and 4 rushing TDs. Next up for Jo Byrns, it will travel to Nashville, Tennessee to contest Coach Ron Lambert’s RePublic High School, itself coming off a 46-0 win over Pickett County at home this past Friday night.

Congratulations, for the second time, to Eric Herring, Jr. for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
