One of the more witty, engaging, and charismatic players on the 2017 Springfield Yellow Jackets Football team was Class of 2018, D’corion Bryant. Maybe more than any other player, Bryant was the personification of Coach Dustin Wilson‘s attacking, blitz from anywhere at any time, defensive philosophy. Sure Bryant played WR in 2017 but where he had his most prolific and definitive impact on the Jackets’ fortunes was at Corner and, particularly, executing a back-sided, corner blitz. Bryant led the Jackets’ in 2017 with 10 sacks feigning to be in coverage than screaming off the end like a house on fire. The Jackets are sure going to miss the diminutive 5-7 player who has graduated. Bryant left the team, on the eve of 2018, with the task of finding another D’corion Bryant either on the JV roster or roaming the hallways at SHS. At KPGFootball, we will monitor this going forward because corners like Bryant don’t exactly grow on trees. Thank goodness Springfield still has Kevontay White to lock down, at least, one of the sides.

Congratulations to D’corion Bryant for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
