Storm Warning: If this is the ‘Swan Song’ on this serial article; it has been quite the ride…a look ahead! @HopkinsCentral @minguabeefjerky @840WHAS @PrepRedzone @KyHighFootball

January 1, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We have had the privilege of covering the Hopkins County Central Storm for several seasons. We have reveled in the highs and commiserated through the lows. Through it all we have developed a deep appreciation and love for the Storm football program and all that it means to the citizens of Hopkins County, particularly Morton’s Gap. Morton’s Gap is a special place on a Friday Night as fans are treated to a Rockwellian, small-town, football experience. If this article has run its course, if it is over, then let the record reflect it has been our immense pleasure, our distinct honor.

Lexington Christian Academy places six (6) players on the Small-School, All-State Football Team making these six our eCampus.com Players of the Week @eCampusdotcom, @mac_darland, @Oakley_Watkins, @CoachDCharles, @jhyde61, @MattieLebryk, @LCAEAGLESFB, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @CoachDCharles, @matthewmont57, @Dfarmer2028

It is the cusp, the eve of a New Year. The previous year was marked with achievement which would see LCA’s football program welcome a new head coach in Oakley Watkins, break in a new OL (welcoming some new star to an outstanding unit from the year before), develop real weapons among the skills, win a 2A title (the school’s second all-time), and brace for a rosy appearing future ahead. In a couple of words, magnificent, glorious. In this article we want to feature our Small School All-Staters, many of whom we have before featured. Enjoy the article and thank you eCampus.com for taking this step to provide worthy high school kids this type recognition and promotion.

Haden Wise, from Fort Campbell, is the Lasaters Coffee & Tea Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (or Tea) Featured Player of the Week @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @FC_FALCONS_FB

December 30, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Haden Wise brings something to the table programs desperately need, particularly programs competing at the 2A classification. Haden Wise has a very versatile skill set with a variety of talents which lend itself well to playing multiple sports. Wise was among the defensive leaders for the Falcons football team this past Fall and is set to man the hot corner (3rd base) and play hind-catcher when baseball gets here this Spring. Both 3rd base and catcher employ skills which lend naturally (and specifically) to playing football. Wise’s multi-faceted, athletic tool belt makes him more, not less, recruitable to colleges around the commonwealth. Enjoy this feature.

We are in the midst or our offseason coverage. What happens during the offseason will have an impact on what the Wildcats do in ’26. We are thrilled the Bank of Cadiz is going to continue to sponsor content for the magazine in 2026. They are making an investment in the families and athletes populating the areas our bank services. Enjoy this look at this young star player and how this offseason will factor heavily into how he plays for his team next year.

Splash Hire! Garry McPeek tabbed for Eminence High Head Football Coaching Job @EminenceFball, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @g_mcpeek, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

December 26, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Not all hires are created equally. From our vantage point, and looking just at the numbers, the McPeek hire at Eminence High looks like a solid hire. Garry McPeek has a world of coaching experience, where he has experienced success and won championships from the Kentucky 1A all the way up to the professional ranks (Arena Football League). What are the chances he will fare well at Eminence High? We would be willing to wager on it and you know how conservative leaning we tend to be. Enjoy the article.

Dixon, Perryman from Fort Campbell and Jackson, ‘Tank’ Johnson from Hopkinsville High all make the All-State football team… @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans

We have been going around and congratulating some of our advertisers who helped promote some of these kids right on the small or large school all-state football team. Yesterday, we congratulated some kids who made both the Bank of Cadiz award list and one of the two teams and today we do similarly for Lasaters Coffee. The truth is we have some wonderful sponsors among our family of advertisers and many of these companies know a quality player who seeing one. Today, we recognize four guys who made all-state all four of whom we have before fed breakfast. Enjoy the article.

Bank of Cadiz is proud of its All-Staters! @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @KatherineL58069

December 22, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

The Bank of Cadiz is very proud of its former in-season, Players of the Week who also made one of Kentucky’s more prestigious All-State Football teams. The Big Ass Fans team, which has a small school and large school component is the most thorough and well defended all state football team in the KHSAA. This validates our PoW selections. Validation is grand! Enjoy the article from your friends at the Bank of Cadiz.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we present you the Big Ass Fans, Large School, All-State Football Team

December 16, 2025 Fletcher Long 4

We will start out this all-state team with an admonition with which we begin every team we have ever published. We will miss on some guys. It is just important to note that your son not making our team doesn’t mean he wasn’t an all-state caliber player. Also, we expressly reserve the right to re-enter the team, even after it is published, and add worthy players who may have been missed or accidentally omitted. That being said, our small and large school All-State football teams, sponsored by Big Ass Fans, are the most expansive and complete teams in the business. This team here, and the coaches’s team published by the “Courier Journal,” are the only two legitimate teams in existence and we believe our team to be much more complete and legitimate than even theirs. Congratulations to the players who made the team and congratulations to the wonderful world of Kentucky high school football for providing us with the endless thrills and discussions we net from our following this, the greatest game on earth.

Jacob Savage from Ryle High is the @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @bigassfans, @jacobsavage2125, @KyHighFootball, @khsaafootball, @IndianaFootball, @RAIDERSPORTSNKY

December 5, 2025 Fletcher Long 0

Many people believe Jacob Savage is Kentucky’s best all-around, high school football player. Indiana’s Curt Cignetti would agree, that is why he offered and accepted the commitment from the North Kentucky superstar. Savage has had a tremendous career contributing to multiple phases of the Ryle Raiders’s attack. This kid has won the Paul Hornung Award given annually to the commonwealth’s very best player. Will he double up and win Mr. Football too? You know there is some precedent for that occurring. Enjoy this look at Ryle’s Jacob Savage, a player who couldn’t have had a better surname for the sport he was playing.
