Drew Anderson is among the best ’29’s in the commonwealth of Kentucky. Matter of fact, Prep RedZone has the 5’9,” 170-pounder as the top corner in his class and the 10th highest regarded prospect overall. These guys are a nationally read and recognized as evaluators of football playing talent. This is an opinion which matters, unlike the scads and scores of other opinions you see proffered from individuals not in the business but pretending to be. Our opinion also matters. We believe Drew Anderson is easily among the better corners in his class and has every right to be considered top in his graduating class at that post. To know whether a prospect is or isn’t among the commonwealth’s best, one must first know what else is out there. Today, we will demonstrate for you the qualities, skills, and production which makes Anderson among the leading corners in his graduating class throughout the commonwealth of Kentucky. Enjoy the feature, start taking notes now.

Beau Artman from St. Xavier (Lou.) is our @bigassfans Kentucky Comfort Creator of the Week @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball,

February 27, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Mason Trimble is headed to Danville, KY where it is anticipated he will be competing for QB-1 reps for the “Praying Colonels” in the Fall. That leaves a job opening under center for the St. Xavier Tigers under first year HFC, Brian Landis. Who will fill that slot? We take a look at the situation and garner a guess about one of the candidates, Beau Artman. Artman has the frame, physique, and athletic ability to take a run at the job. Opportunity is knocking, will Artman answer the door? Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow us to help you out in that regard at Big Ass Fans!

Is Elkhorn’s Preston Schaffer the best RB in the @khsaafootball’s ’30 class? @PrestonSch48255, @Aspirationsgym, @JaylenGarnett24,@bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @ChiefSmoke10, @FCFlyerFootball, @FLYERATHLETICS

Every year there is plenty of talk about some rising 9th grade being the best player at his position entering the high school game. Most of that talk is speculative and said by people who really don’t have a clue about football played outside their respective counties. We are an entirely different matter as we have reported on and followed the KYMSFA for over a decade. When we say an 8th grader, rising 9th grader, is special and will be hard to sit when the season arrives, you should listen to us. We know about what we are talking. Preston Schaffer is such a kid and such a RB. Eddie James is slobbering to get this kid in a uniform and on a playing field. Enjoy the feature.

We are very pleased to welcome Lasaters Coffee & Tea to our growing family of advertisers. The Kelley family has a very long history in the local football industry and several of the Kelleys have had their numbers retired owing to their familial history of playing excellence. Football has been very good to their family and they look for ways to give back to this very special community. Lasaters is a place one goes to get caffeinated and motivated and couldn’t we all use a bit more of that invigoration in our daily routines. Get by one (1) of our four (4) Christian County, Kentucky locations and enjoy the roasted flavor of a hot cup of warmth and love.

Logan Seales, P/K, is a real weapon for Landis’s St. Xavier Team @CoachLandis22, @Prokickercom, @loganmseales, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @eCampusdotcom

February 21, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

St. Xavier doesn’t skimp on any of football’s three phases. You will find that is true of most of your “Big Time,” “Big Boy,” KHSAA football programs. That certainly explains Logan Seales. Seales is a 6’4,” 182-lbs. kicker/punter who converted 100% of his PATs (15 for 15) a year ago, was seven for 11 on FGs, and sent 88% of his kickoffs into or through the end zone for a touchback (52 of 59). That is called having a lithe leg. Logan is a soccer star at St. Xavier in addition to football and also plays volleyball. He is a multi-faceted talent who makes a difference on a football team not always noticed by the casual fan. We are a long way from either casual or just a fan of KHSAA football. Enjoy the feature.

Can Peyton Duckwall seize the reigns and lead his Chargers back to glory? @QBPeytonDuck, @KHSAAFootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @BECoachKendrick

February 19, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Among the harder things to forecast is which freshmen and sophomores across the commonwealth look poised to come on the varsity roster and replace some of the huge talents crossing the graduation stage the prior spring. Let’s face it, some of these guys are just dark hard to replace. Bullitt East is graduating its starting QB, Cole Cornell. Who will step into those shoes for the 6A, District 4, seven (7) game winners? Will it be junior, Garrett Stickdorn, sophomore, Jack Pope, or freshman, Peyton Duckwall? At the end of the day, any guess we could make would be speculative. That won’t stop us from guessing. We are in the speculation business. Enjoy a look at a young player who has plenty of skills and tools to be “the guy” when the first snap comes around in the Fall of 2026.

Jayon Bass, from the Christian County Tigers, is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea Wake Up and Smell the Coffee feature of the week @jayonbass2028, @HopHighTigers, @LasatersCoffee, @The_CoachLo, @County_TigerFB, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom

February 17, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Jayon Bass has a frame to die for at 6’3,” 170-pounds. As an 11-pts. a game scorer averaging 6.4 rebounds a night, football isn’t the only game Bass can play. Bass can play anything because he is that guy, he is that type athlete. Bass was a star for his Tiger team a season ago who played sparingly on offense but was among the team’s very best defenders. Will he pull two-way duty when the rosters merge? I suppose we shall see. Congratulations to Jayon Bass for being our ‘Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (or Tea)’ Player of the Week from Lasaters Coffee & Tea where you are more than served, you are loved!

Gage Chapman (’27) is our Bank of Cadiz feature of the Week @KatherineL58069, @Chapman42071, @MurrayQBClub, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom, @bigassfans, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @Ale8One, @CountyColonels, @HopHighTigers, @murrayFB

February 16, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

We continue on with our offseason coverage not really discussing players of the week so much as discussing featured players and prospects. Gage Chapman is simply among the best multi-phase football talents in the Kentucky-wide, KHSAA football game today at any level. Gage came up from middle school among the commonwealth’s most talented players and has done nothing but confirm we were all right about him from the beginning. Chapman is only going to improve over his senior season, particularly on offense where he should get many more opportunities. Chapman is the kind of kid coaches want to coach and, in the end, that may be the finest compliment which can be paid to him (or any other kid). Enjoy the feature.

Kolin Baker ready for his shine @KolinB95, @vashawnFB, @BodeDarland, @JahbarriFrost98, @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

February 14, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Kolin Baker is largely believed to be among the top-five (5) DLs in Kentucky’s ’28 graduating class. This belief persists in spite of his contributing a scant eight (8) tackles and a single TFL over his 14-games of play his sophomore season. Then again, the kid did see PT in 14-games for Kentucky’s foremost high school football program during a season in which the program won its 3rd consecutive, 6A title and 30th title overall; so, there is that! We have before said a college player will find the field in high school sometime during his sophomore season. This 285-pound wrestler certainly found the field as a sophomore in 14 of the team’s 15 games. What his stats either were or weren’t seems rather trite and mundane compared to the amount of PT he got on the KHSAA’s most talented roster, wouldn’t you agree? Enjoy the feature.

Jaxson Dernocoeur got a taste of what varsity football entails and finds himself hungry for more! @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @FC_FALCONS_FB

February 10, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Jason Dernocoeur is a guy who has loads of promise and appears prepared to do lots of work to develop into the type player he wants to be. He is built like an interior offensive lineman, wears the number of a guard or center, but will probably have to pull “double duty” through much of his high school career. This young guys has shown he has what it takes to get it done. Congratulations to Jaxson Dernocoeur for being our ‘Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (or Tea)’ Player of the Week from Lasaters Coffee & Tea where you are more than served, you are loved!
