If you have been reading our weekly “Outstanding Performances…” articles, the series of articles should have impressed upon you how very difficult winning this award really is. We had another spectacular week where there were numerous performances any one of which would have been a fine performance to single-out. There are weeks where picking just one seems impossible. This was one of those weeks. We have settled on one, however, and we believe you will see exactly why. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient. HB.

This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is one of Kentucky’s better LB/TE prospects in the class of 2023. Simon Ghee is a name you might not know but we highly recommend you learn. He is 6-2 and weighs 220 pounds and he is having quite a year for Class 4A, District 2 Warren East High School. Ghee and his teammates have a huge district showdown Friday night against Franklin-Simpson, a team which has historically had its way with both Warren East and the rest of District 2. Doesn’t appear to be the case this year. This feature is brought to you weekly by the folks over at Independence Bank. Go see our friends and thank them, not just for this series, but for the outstanding services and products which have started a revolution in the banking industry.

Well with the performances we are regularly seeing around Kentucky these days, it was bound to happen. We have a week we had to give out two awards. We got special permission to do it this one time so don’t be thinking this will become a “regular thing.” Matt Anderson is a top-flight sophomore RB whose performance Friday night was unbelievable. Anthony Johns is a hulking OL who also plays defense for a team which took down the defending state champion and top ranked team, Somerset, on this past Friday night. The game was in Somerset. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient.

Talk about your protein-packed performers, this 6-1, 215-pound MLB for Owensboro (Senior) High School (5A) had one of those nights where he was called upon to contribute on multiple sides of the scrimmage line. He came away with a big-time performance and productive regardless of what he was called upon to do. In a tight contest like last Friday with Owensboro Catholic, where every score was important, his contributions were instrumental to victory. We think AG (as we call him around the magazine) is the definitive player at his defensive position in Kentucky high school football. Can’t flatter a guy much more than that! Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient. HB.

#Isaac Dixon from @BelfryFootball1 is the @minguabeefjery “Protein-packed Performer of the Week.” @PrepSpin, @KyHighFootball, @1776Bank

October 7, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

Talk about your protein-packed performers, this 5-11, 190-pound RB/DB for Belfry High School (3A) had a quite a night this past Friday. Matter of fact, he’s having quite the year. We think he is a bone fide “Mr. Football” candidate. He’s been in the running every week for the “prize.” If a night like what he had Friday doesn’t get you a T-shirt and some beef jerky, it is hard to imagine what one has to accomplish to win the award. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient. HB.

@lincoln_clancy from @OCathFootball is the @1776Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week! @miguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball

Here’s one for our friends in Owensboro, Kentucky where Independence Bank has 3-branches presently. QB, Lincoln Clancy had huge shoes to fill when he inherited the job from 2019 graduate, Drew Hartz. So far the returns are very favorable. Most importantly, he has led the “Aces” to three wins against zero defeats. Catholic (2A) still has to play Owensboro “Senior” (5A), Apollo (6A), and Daviess County (6A) before everything is “said and done.” For now, Clancy is rolling and so is the team he has been entrusted to lead. Congratulations on being the “Revolutionary Player of the Week” and join us, this time next week, as we distinguish another worthy recipient. HB.
