We talk a lot about the eye-test. Well, we have heard it before said there are only two types of high school football players; those who play the game and those who just think it is cool to get to wear “football stuff.” This Nate Caldwell is a football player. We don’t really care about frame, length, or any of the other “measurables” which don’t tell you a thing about a prospect other than his appearance. Our “measurables” are the things over which a prospect has some control, the things which actually tell you something about him. Isaiah Keys has killed it in every measurable over which he has any control. We picked this guy in 2019 as a Sophomore All-State defender. He followed up his sophomore season with another solid junior year in spite of playing fewer games because of the pandemic. This is an “out of frame” guy we would take a chance on were we working in the recruiting office at one of Kentucky’s 17-college football programs. This kid can play. There are pick-ups which are solid base-hits and then there are home runs. In our opinion, when K-Dub secured this player as it’s “QB of the future” the Panthers had hit a round tripper. Starring for the Panthers will prove nothing new for Clay Games as that is exactly what he has done in high school at Elizabethtown High. Enjoy the feature. HB.

There are some players with production so prodigious one has to wonder, “Why haven’t I heard of this guy?” Sometimes it is distance, sometimes it is poor coverage, sometimes one isn’t working hard enough to get out and learn who’s who via the immediate access to information we enjoy these days. With Ben Dalton, it is probably the hard luck he has experienced over his high school football career. He had a tremendous senior year and we are proud to recognize him today. Mingua Beef Jerky tagged us a video of Brayden Reynolds bench pressing 420-pounds. Man, is that powerful for a kid who weighs 226, or for any kid. We were so impressed we decided to “research” him and discover what kind of football player he is. We learned he is really something. Talk about starting revolutions, Centre College has begun one in the minds of many of its conference mates with the in-state singing class it assembled this offseason. Yessir, the play a little football in Danville, Kentucky both at the high school and college levels, but then again you are probably already cognizant of that.
