Manning made some changes to the deployment of personnel both on offense and defense to put kids in better positions to succeed and succeed they did. Tonight, the Storm will travel to Dixon, KY to take on an always tough, McLean County team. How do the Storm finish the final four of the regular season? Seems like we have been here before.

Jack James has set all kinds of “All Time” quarterbacking records during his time at Tilghman High in Paducah, Kentucky. This past Friday night, James was on fire. James completed 22 of his 35-passing attempts, for 309-yards passing, and 4-TDs through the air with one coming on the ground. What kind of night was it? It was a Jerky-worthy performance. Morganfield, KY is a tough place to play. The Storm will be invading Union County with the Braves off to a poor start (2-2) by their standards. However, as the Fort Campbell Falcons showed the KHSAA last week, either team could emerge victorious from this encounter. Let’s hope it is we!

We have called it the biggest upset in the KHSAA since we began covering it approximately a decade ago. We couldn’t believe it when it was reported to us thinking it almost had to have been a typo. The Storm have a winnable game coming to the Gap but there are no off weeks for this particular edition of Hopkins County Central’s football program. Crittenden County is among the tougher customers in the 2A classification on this end of Kentucky generally and the Storm will be playing a team in as bad of a need of a “W” as are they. The Storm have a huge mountain to climb Friday night as it travels to Badgett Stadium, cross town, to play a red hot Maroons team from North-Hopkins. North is 2-0 and ranked the 22nd best football team in Kentucky regardless of classification. We’re not sure there has ever been a Maroon’s team more highly regarded. Hopkins Central got off to a rocky start here in ’24. The same can be said of Fort Campbells opening loss to Clarksville NE. These two teams meet on Friday night and they both badly need to come out on top. We like Central in this contest, but they can’t make the same mistakes made against Caldwell or the result will be similar. Enjoy the feature.

Lincoln Acree won this award this past offseason for an incredible outing at the Rivals camp in Atlanta. Once the season commenced, the stud athlete was up to his old tricks. When you play for Graves County, a win over Mayfield doesn’t happen everyday so it should be celebrated and rewarded.
