If you were to look at all the ways Isac Earl contributed to Central’s bottom line over his junior season, you may draw the conclusion we did. He led the team in passing, led the team in receiving, led the team in scoring, was among the leaders in rushing, tackles, TFLs, and FFs. That is a ton of leadership out of one position. The 5’8,” 165-pound dynamo may be the Storm’s best all-around athlete on the roster not named “Gunn.” Enjoy this feature about a young man who brings on the stormy weather for Central foes.

One of our favorite songs used to proclaim loving “red necks, white sox, and blue ribbon beer.” The blue ribbon beer was a reference to Pabst Blue Ribbon, a famous brand of alcoholic beverage. We don’t know if the Pabst family who son is a stud ’27 football player in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky bears any type relation to the Pabst family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then again, we don’t know that they don’t. What we do know is Nathan Pabst is dad-burn good at football and he makes his team all the better when he contributes his considerable efforts. They call him “Melo.” It is a reference to Carmelo Anthony and is an indication of just how good this ’29 can be in two, not just one, sports. Jaden “Melo” White has committed to play his high school ball at the Central Storm and, in so doing, provides an explosive, big-frame athlete who can play on the edge or in the middle of the defenses second level. The great thing about high school football stars is often they are the guy who grew up down the street, went to church with us, and even look like us. JJ Austin is a workhorse for one of Kentucky’s premier programs. He leads the team in rushing, and rushing the football is what the Pirates do best. JJ is also more than a token defender. What will he do in ’25, as a senior? One might say he is “in the lead” to represent the “Big Ass Fans” Small School All-State Football Offense at FB/LB in 2025. It is still early. Every year, rosters are charged with replacing outgoing talent with upgrades (if they are lucky). Eighth graders leave middle school, and enter ninth grade, more and more prepared to contribute on Friday nights than at any previous time. Aiden Jesse is putting up prodigious numbers, particularly for a team which has struggled as mightily as have the Colonels. Jesse is also impressing the right people as recruiting interest in him is heightening. This is a prospect who we could see signing with any team at virtually any level of competition.
