We pick games in all six (6) classes
This something we do every year and have for as long as we have been on air. We pick winners, we predict scores, and Saturday across the commonwealth, on the Kentucky News Network, our guy, Friday Night Fletch, will go on air an discuss how we fared. The below are some of the key matchups across Kentucky pitting teams from different classifications playing out of class for the most part. Here is how we see it.
Jumpin’ Jack Flash, Associate Scouting Director, KPGFootball

Here is how we see the openers in all six (6) of Kentucky’s classifications. Many of these teams are taking on opponents out of classification which will be important when RPI’s start being calculated and classification rankings and seeding start crystalizing across the KHSAA. We will start with Kentucky Class 1A.

Class 1A
Campbellsville (1A) at Bell County (3A)…
The Bell County Bobcats are projected as 17-point favorites over the Campbellsville High School Eagles.
The two Kentucky high school football teams will face off in their season opener on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 7:30 PM at Bell County High School in Pineville, KY.
Game Predictions and Odds
| Predictive Metric | Bell County Bobcats | Campbellsville Eagles |
| On3 Projected Score | 37 | 20 |
| Calculated Handicap / Spread | -17 | +17 |
Matchup Context
- Last Meeting (2025): Bell County narrowly defeated Campbellsville 30-24 in a hard-fought away game to open the previous season.
- Classification Gap: The Bobcats are a prominent Class 3A power coached by legendary Dudley Hilton. They are regularly ranked among the top programs in their division. Campbellsville competes as a smaller Class 1A school, making the matching handicap favor the larger school.
August 22, 2026 (Saturday Night) Breathitt High (2A) at Middlesboro (1A) at Bradner Stadium (Lee Majors Field) in Middlesboro, Kentucky as part of the ARH Surgical Associates Bowl Game
Middlesboro is favored by a projected 15 points over Breathitt County. High school computer models and regional sports books project a final score around 35-20 in favor of the Yellowjackets.
The matchup presents a fascinating strategic breakdown, heavily influenced by coaching changes and trenches optimization. We believe Middlesboro may win the game, but we believe the margin will be much tighter than 15-points.
Middlesboro has an excellent stable of running backs returning from a year ago and Deakon Partin (like Miles Hollon) is a top-flight talent at QB. This loaded backfield of Middlesboro will work against a run box which has been suspect in its two scrimmages. Breathitt has QB, Miles Hollon, who is among the better QBs in his graduating class (2028).
Recent History & Context
Last season, these two teams opened the year in a wild, high-scoring shootout where Middlesboro defeated Breathitt County 50-36. Middlesboro entered that game as an underdog but completely dictated the tempo. This year, the setting shifts and the narrative changes with new leadership on the Yellowjackets’ sideline.
Paul Blazer High (4A) at Raceland Worthington High (1A Finalist in ’25)…
The Raceland Rams are predicted to win over the Ashland Blazer Tomcats with a projected final score of 24-21.
Game Analysis & Trends
- The Matchup: The 4A Ashland Blazer Tomcats travel to Ram Stadium to take on the 1A Raceland Rams on Friday, August 21, 2026. This regional rivalry serves as a premier season opener in eastern Kentucky high school football.
- Historical Edge: Raceland won the 2025 matchup in a tight 17-14 battle secured by a late game-winning field goal. They have historically shown great resilience in this opening-week series.
- Roster Strength: Raceland enters the 2026 season heavily favored in Class 1A. They return six crucial starters on both sides of the ball, including their senior star quarterback Jacob Waller and a highly productive running back in Landen Stiltner.
- The Verdict: While Ashland Blazer boasts a larger roster and higher class classification (4A), Raceland’s experienced, senior-led offensive core gives them the slight advantage to edge out a high-scoring, competitive victory on their home turf.
Sayre (1A) at Kentucky Country Day (defending 1A KHSAA champions)…
The Sayre Spartans will win a close battle on the road against Kentucky Country Day (KCD) with a projected final score of 27–24.
This Week 1 showdown on Friday, August 21, features the last two KHSAA Class A state champions—2024 champion Sayre against defending 2025 champion KCD. Last year’s matchup was an absolute thriller where KCD squeezed out a 31-28 victory on a last-second field goal.
The Matchup Handicap
- Sayre’s Key Edge (Roster Continuity): Head coach Chad Pennington’s Spartans return an experienced core with five starters back on both offense and defense. They are anchored by senior quarterback Gage Pennington (a Butler University commit who racked up 1,447 passing yards and 24 total touchdowns last season) and star senior linebacker Harrison Phillips
- KCD’s Hurdle (Heavy Roster Turnover): While the Bearcats are playing at home as the reigning state champs, they are highly inexperienced. They must replace the vast majority of their championship lineup, returning only three starters on each side of the ball. Though junior running back Deion Davidson provides explosive big-play potential, KCD will likely experience early-season growing pains.
Final Betting Angle
Expect a hard-hitting game that mirrors last year’s point total. However, the quarterback continuity and defensive experience give Sayre the marginal edge needed to exact revenge on the road and cover a tight spread.
Class 2A
North Hardin (6A) at Lexington Christian Academy (2A defending KHSAA champions) in the eCampus.com Bowl
Lexington Christian Academy (LCA) is projected to defeat North Hardin.
Analytical models, such as On3’s High School Football Predictor, favor the LCA Eagles with roughly a 79% win probability and an expected scoreline around 40-20.
Game Details
The matchup takes place this weekend as part of the annual eCampus.com Bowl / FOX 56 Home Team Showcase.
- Date: Friday, August 21, 2026
- Kickoff Time: 8:30 PM EDT
- Location: White, Greer, & Maggard Stadium (Bryan Station High School)
- Broadcast: Live on FOX 56
What to Watch
- Recent History: These two programs are familiar with one another. In their season opener the previous year, LCA handled North Hardin decisively with a 41-21 victory behind a breakout multi-touchdown performance from quarterback Nash Whelan behind two all-staters upfront in Nick Greer and Matthew Montgomery. Montgomery has been moved out to tackle giving the Eagles one for the more mobile and athletic tackles in the game at the KHSAA level in any classification.
- The Rosters: Class 2A powerhouse LCA enters the season carrying great momentum after winning the 2025 2A Kentucky State Championship. Despite being in a lower class, their defensive front matches up exceptionally well against the larger roster depth of Class 6A North Hardin.
Boyle County (4A defending KHSAA champions) at Owensboro Catholic (2A finalist) at the WKU Rafferty’s Bowl on Saturday, August 22, 2026
Boyle County enters the matchup at WKU as a heavy 27-point favorite over Owensboro Catholic, backed by a 92% analytical win probability. Computer models project a final score around 41-14.
Handicapping this KHSAA cross-class showdown requires evaluating class differences, historical roster trends, and the betting line value.
Team Profiles & Power Rankings
- Boyle County Rebels (Class 4A): Ranked #3 statewide across all classes, the Rebels are a perennial powerhouse. They are coming off yet another dominant Class 4A state championship victory. They field a deeply athletic roster built to reload rather than rebuild.
- Schedule Context: This serves as an early-season litmus test for both teams. Boyle County uses games like this to cement its status as Kentucky’s top pound-for-pound program. Owensboro Catholictakes the game as a low-risk, high-reward opportunity to build resilience for their 2A championship trajectory.
- Spread Analysis
- If you take Boyle County (-27): You are betting on the Rebels’ defensive front to overwhelm the Aces’ offensive line, forcing turnovers and quick possessions. Boyle County’s history of blowing out top-tier teams makes a four-touchdown margin very achievable.
- If you take Owensboro Catholic (+27): You are banking on the Aces’ explosive passing game to hit quick, high-tempo plays early. If Owensboro Catholic can scheme open targets and score twice, they can backdoor cover a massive 27-point spread, even in a loss.
We have seen the Aces play this year in a scrimmage. They are an impressive offensive ball club who can score points in bunches. We like Boyle County but we don’t believe the margin will be 27-points. We are taking the Rebels to win the game 45-28.
McLean County (2A) at Muhlenberg County High (5A) in Greeneville
McLean County is a strong favorite (giving the Mustangs 13.5 points on the road) heading into Friday night’s regular-season opener against Muhlenberg County. Based on team trajectories, rosters, and historical matchups, an analytical handicap heavily favors the Cougars over the Mustangs.
Game Overview
- Teams: McLean County Cougars (2A) @ Muhlenberg County Mustangs (5A)
- Date & Time: Friday, August 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM CDT
- Location: Mustang Stadium (Greenville, KY)
Analytical Breakdown & Handicap
| Factor | McLean County Cougars | Muhlenberg County Mustangs | Advantage |
| Roster Continuity | Returning key starters plus highly seasoned sophomores who gained crucial reps last year. | Rebuilding mode trying to bounce back after a tough string of recent seasons. | McLean County |
| Historical Series | Leads the all-time series 10–5, including recent dominant wins (e.g., 48-0 and 58-26). | Broke an 8-game series losing streak with a tight win in 2025. | McLean County |
| Scheme & Execution | Coach Zach Wagner’s offense uses highly effective, creative gadget plays and odd formations. | Often struggles defensively against heavy, disciplined ground attacks. | McLean County |
Projected Betting Line & Pick
- Estimated Spread: McLean County -13.5
- Over/Under: 46.5
- The Pick: McLean County to win and cover.
While Muhlenberg County did manage to pull off an upset last season to break the Cougars’ dominant streak, McLean County has used that loss as fuel throughout their summer program. McLean County’s offensive line and heavy run game should control the tempo and wear down the Mustangs’ front early. Expect a multi-touchdown victory for the visiting Cougars.
Class 3A
The Christian Academy-Louisville (3A defending four-time KHSAA champions) at Pikeville (1A semifinalist in ’25 and 8-time KHSAA champion)
Let me start by saying I am unsure there is a team in Kentucky, at any classification, which can beat the Centurions. The projected point spread handicap favors the Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL) Centurions by 29 points over the Pikeville High School Panthers.
The two powerhouses will face off in their season opener on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 7:30 PM at Pikeville.
Matchup Predictions & Analysis
Major high school sports algorithms and fan consensus heavily favor CAL to take the victory:
- Analytical Projection: The On3 High School Football Database predicts a final score of CAL 42, Pikeville 13 (a 29-point margin).
- Win Probability: CAL is given a 95% chance of winning the matchup outright.
- Fan Voting: In community tracking polls on BluegrassPreps, early voting sits at 100% in favor of CAL.
There are a ton of Pikeville fans who would take a loss to CAL under thirty. The Centurions are just that good and that talent laden.
We like the Panthers to cover as they play at home and Pikeville is a tough, tough place to have to play. This Panther team is loaded and will contend for a title this year regardless of how this game ends.
DuPont Manual High (6A) at Central High (Louisville, 3A)
DuPont Manual (6A) is the predicted winner with a projected final score of 35-7 over Louisville Central (3A). We go along with this projection.
Game Handicap & Analysis
- The Spread (Estimated): DuPont Manual -24.5 points.
- Historical Dominance: DuPont Manual has historically outmatched Central in recent matchups, maintaining a dominant multi-game winning streak.
- Recent Track Record: In their last meeting, the Crimsons completely shut out the Yellow Jackets with an overwhelming 42-0 victory. Manual also won the prior matchups comfortably (27-3 in 2024 and 26-0 in 2023).
- Class Advantage: DuPont Manual enters the game as a highly ranked Class 6A powerhouse, featuring a deep roster and a stingy defense. Central, playing in Class 3A, traditionally struggles to match Manual’s size, depth, and passing volume over four quarters.
Expect Central to play with plenty of pride and potentially break the shutout streak this time around, but Manual’s offensive line and defensive front will safely control the line of scrimmage. Manual will cover the 24.5-point spread.
Ballard High (6A, Louisville) at Lexington Catholic (3A)
Ballard is the predicted winner with a projected final score of 24-20. Don’t be shocked should the Knights emerge from this game with the Dub.
Handicapping the Matchup
This season-opening showdown between Ballard High School (Class 6A) and Lexington Catholic High School (Class 3A) presents a classic contrast in roster depth and style of play.
- The Class Advantage: As a Class 6A program, Ballard naturally boasts a larger roster and deeper talent pool. However, Lexington Catholic is historically a powerhouse that frequently competes above its weight class.
- Historical Context: In last year’s season opener, Ballard used its athleticism to stifle the Knights in a 19-6 victory in Louisville last season.
- Home Field Advantage: The landscape shifts slightly this year as the game is hosted at Lexington Catholic. The Knights have established a gritty, defensive identity under head coach David Clark and are bringing back 15 experienced seniors. They plan to utilize a run-heavy, physical offense to chew up the clock and neutralize Ballard’s explosive speed.
Class 4A
Covington Catholic (4A) at Ryle High (6A) in Union, KY…
The Raiders from Ryle are tough and among our favorite teams in Kentucky. Ryle will be projected to defeat the Covington Catholic Colonels by a predicted score of 34-28. Covington Catholic is one of those teams who win games because of the name on the front of the jersey.
Game Handicap & Breakdown
- The Spread Context: On3 consensus projections pin Ryle as roughly a 6-point favorite playing at home in Union, KY.
- Recent History: Ryle holds a clear upper hand in recent matchups, defeating CovCath in back-to-back season openers—winning 30-14 in 2024 and edging them out 26-20 in 2025.
- Ryle’s Edge (Class 6A): Coming off a deep run as Class 6A State Semifinalists, the Raiders’ physical ground game and high-tier defensive backfield give them a slight power-ranking advantage over the Class 5A Colonels.
- CovCath’s Counter (Class 4A): Led by dynamic dual-threat quarterback, Covington Catholic features an explosive offense capable of quick strikes. However, their tendency to give up costly turnovers and penalties in past opening weeks against Ryle remains their primary obstacle.
We’re taking the Colonels in Blue over the Raiders this weekend in a departure from conventional wisdom. What can we say? We’re traditionalists, if. nothing else. Covington Catholic wins 35-32 in Union, KY.
Highlands (4A) at Freddy D (6A, Lexington) on The Farm
The prediction for the upcoming matchup is a Frederick Douglass victory over Highlands with a score of 32-21.
The two Kentucky high school football powerhouses are scheduled to play their season opener on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Frederick Douglass (“The Farm”). Analysts and data models lean toward the Broncos extracting revenge on their home turf.
Matchup Preview
- The Revenge Factor: Last year’s season opener was a double-overtime thriller where Highlands squeaked out a 21-20 win after blocking multiple kicks and converting a dramatic walk-off 2-point conversion. Frederick Douglass will be highly motivated to return the favor at home.
- The Rosters: Frederick Douglass enters the season ranked as the No. 4 team in Class 6A with what head coach Nathan McPeek calls his best team in years. Highlands (No. 3 in Class 4A) features star tight end/wildcat quarterback Tayden Lorenzen (committed to Miami of Ohio), but they are breaking in a relatively inexperienced sophomore quarterback, Bryce Armstrong (’29, 6’1,” 195-pounds), who is both well thought of and coveted by next level programs.
- Expert & Analytics Consensus: The computer models at On3 Sports Prediction projects a 32-21 win for Frederick Douglass with a 70% win probability. Regional fans on the Bluegrass Rivals Forums also lean heavily toward the Broncos’ elite defense stifling the Bluebirds.
We are talking the Broncos here to cover the 11-points on The Farm.
McCracken County (6A) at Paducah Tilghman (4A) in the ‘Rumble on the River‘
This isn’t last year’s Blue Tornado. That being said, the Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado is the predicted winner over the McCracken County Mustangs with a final score prediction of 45-21.
Game Handicap Analysis
- The Trend: Paducah Tilghman High School firmly dominates this cross-town “Rumble on the River” rivalry. They hold a seven-game winning streak against McCracken County.
Past Matchups: Recent historical scorelines show a massive talent and execution gap between the two programs:
- 2025: Paducah Tilghman won 63-28.
- 2024: Paducah Tilghman won 41-16.
- 2023: Paducah Tilghman won 42-7.
Roster Strength: Paducah Tilghman Football enters the 2026 season ranked as a top Class 4A powerhouse in Kentucky. They feature elite playmakers like three-star wide receiver Avery Thompson, who holds over 25 Division I college offers, alongside an aggressive, physical defense led by returning linebackers Wyatt Gower and Isaac James.
The Handicap Line: If an unofficial betting line were set for this game, Paducah Tilghman would realistically be favored by 21.5 to 24.5 points. McCracken County’s offense usually manages to score a few touchdowns late, but their defense has historically struggled to contain Tilghman’s explosive perimeter speed. Expect Tilghman to cover this spread.
Class 5A
Franklin County (4A finalist) at Scott County (5A preseason top-ranked, 5A team)
The Scott County Cardinals are a slight home favorite over the Franklin County Flyers heading into their season opener on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 7:30 PM.
Analytical data and high school football projections from the On3 Football schedule lean toward Scott County, predicting a 35-27 victory for the Cardinals and giving them a 64% chance to win the game outright.
Matchup Overview
- The Line (Implied): Scott County -8
- Over/Under (Implied): 62 points
- Classification: Franklin County competes as a Class 4A power, while Scott County is a Class 5A school.
- Preseason State Rankings: Scott County enters the season ranked #18 in Kentucky, with Franklin County right behind them at #20. We have both teams ranked in the top five of their respective classifications with Scott County our top rated 5A squad.
Key Betting Angles & Handicapping Factors
- Scott County’s Ground Game Dominance: Local analysts on the Bluegrasspreps Forum note that Scott County possesses what may be the premier rushing offense in the state. They feature Mr. Kentucky candidate Timmy Emongo, who was rested during their 28-0 scrimmage win over Campbell County but will be the focal point of the offense for the opener.
- Scrimmage Sharpness: In the preseason, the Cardinals looked remarkably efficient, scoring touchdowns on all four varsity possessions played against Campbell County. Their relentless ground-and-pound style tends to wear opponents down and control the game clock, making them a safe pick to maintain a lead at home.
- The Revenge & Series Trend Factor: These teams have a history of heavy, physical season-opening matchups. Franklin County rolled to a 26-6 win in 2024, but Scott County famously exacted revenge in past cycles by stifling the Flyers’ explosive plays.
- Franklin County’s Continuity: Led by head coach Eddie James, the Flyers have consistently been a top-tier program in Class 4A. While they have the talent to keep this a one-possession game, playing on the road in Georgetown against a veteran 5A defensive front will test their early-season execution.
- The Jalen Dantzler factor-Dantzler, a ’27 kid who is among the KHSAA’s more heavily recruited athletes is a transfer from Central High (Louisville) and eligible for immediate play. He is the KHSAA’s premier returner on special teams (punts and kicks) and is the top safety. This guy will make Scott County a considerably better team and a much more lethal attack in all three phases.
Union County (3A) at Madisonville North-Hopkins (5A)
Madisonville-North Hopkins has completely controlled this regional rivalry on the gridiron over the last few seasons. While the Maroons are missing a tremendous running back from a season ago, they are big and talented upfront with Kadence Price (’27, 6’2,” 270-pounds) and Ryder Sandidge (’27) a three phase threat who can run from scrimmage both well and effectively.
- 2025 Opener: The Maroons traveled to Morganfield and dismantled the Braves in a 49-13 blowout victory.
- 2024 Opener: The Maroons won in similar dominant, physical fashion to start their season.
Key Handicapping Factors
- Home Field Advantage: Unlike last year’s away game, the Maroons host this opener in Madisonville. This eliminates travel fatigue and brings a hostile local crowd into play.
- Offensive Firepower: Madisonville’s system has proven too explosive for Union County’s defensive front. Returning key athletic targets like three phase threat Ryder Sandidge gives the Maroons a clear edge in explosive play potential.
- Defensive Dominance: In their previous matchups, the Maroons’ defense set the tone early, forcing turnovers and stifling Union County’s ability to establish a consistent run game. Basically, what Union County does best, run the football between the tackles, is what the Maroons have the easiest time containing.
Projected Spread & Betting Outlook
While official sportsbooks rarely post public lines for Kentucky high school football, an algorithmic or power-ranking projection would heavily favor the home team.
- Projected Line: Madisonville-North Hopkins -27.5
- Over/Under: 52.5 points
The Pick: Madisonville-North Hopkins to win and cover. Expect the Maroons to rely on their proven blueprint: high physical pressure early, forcing Union County into passing situations, and executing big plays to secure a multi-touchdown victory by the start of the fourth quarter.
St. Xavier (6A) at Owensboro (Senior) High (5A defending KHSAA champions)
St. Xavier is projected to win this matchup over Owensboro by a score of 28-20. This is Brian Landis first game at the helm of St. Xavier, one of Kentucky’s premier programs in the Big Boy division (Kentucky 6A).
Game Information
- Date & Time: Friday, August 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM CDT
- Location: Rash Stadium (Owensboro, KY)
- Game Type: Week 1 Season Opener
Handicap & Matchup Analysis
While On3 Sports lists a model prediction of 28-20 in favor of St. Xavier, this game presents a significantly tighter spread than their previous meetings due to Owensboro’s roster strengths heading into 2026:
- The Historical Edge: St. Xavier Tigers Football has won the last three consecutive meetings in this series, including a dominant 38-7 win over Owensboro. As a perennial Class 6A powerhouse, St. Xavier possesses superior depth and a highly physical defensive system designed to limit big plays.
- The Red Devils’ Resurgence: Unlike last year’s rebuilding phase, the Owensboro Red Devils enter the 2026 season ranked No. 2 in Class 5A and are defending state champions. They return 12 starters, including star senior quarterback DaMarcus Ganaway Jr. (2,706 passing yards, 36 TDs last year) and elite junior wide receiver Kingston Dillard. Defensively, Kentucky commit Ty Ashley anchors the middle after racking up 148 tackles.
- The Home Field Factor: This game moves out of Louisville to Owensboro. Playing in front of a passionate home crowd gives the Red Devils a massive emotional boost to avenge their consecutive losses to the Tigers.
Expect Owensboro’s high-powered passing attack to find more success than they did last season. However, St. Xavier’s trademark programmatic depth and ability to control the line of scrimmage usually prevail late in Week 1 contests. We like Owensboro to cover here; matter of fact, we like the Red Devils to win this game by a score of 28-24.
Class 6A
Louisville Trinity High School opens the 2026 KHSAA football regular season on Friday, August 21, at Cincinnati Anderson (OH).
Anderson’s QB, Owen Scalf, passed for 4,961 yards (ranking No. 9 in OHSAA history for a single season) and 41 touchdowns, while adding 678 rushing yards and 8 scores on the ground. Trinity’s Zane Johnson (’27) has passed for over 7,000 career yards with 100-thrown TDs and a 38-7 record, and three KHSAA 6A titles, over his first 45-games under center. This will be quite the matchup.
The defending KHSAA Class 6A state champions are heading into what head coach Jay Cobb describes as a “murderous” out-of-state and in-state schedule. We like the Shamrocks to win this game in Cincinnati.
The Louisville Trinity Shamrocks are slight 2-point favorites over the Cincinnati Anderson Raptors in their highly anticipated season opener on Friday, August 21, 2026. Data models from On3 High School Football project a tight 28-26 victory for Trinity, giving the Shamrocks a 54% win probability heading into Charles L. Brown Stadium.
Louisville Trinity (KY): Ranked #1 in Kentucky, the Shamrocks are the three-time reigning Class 6A state champions. They carry a roster loaded with seven Division I commits, including star quarterback Zane Johnson and Duke-bound defensive back Elijah Burns-Crump.
Cincinnati Anderson (OH): Ranked in the top 5 in Ohio, the Raptors are consecutive state runners-up in Ohio’s Division II. Led by dynamic quarterback Owen Scalf and Notre Dame-committed defensive back Ace Alston, they boast a potent offense and an aggressive secondary.
This might be key: Anderson’s head coach is scheduled to miss this opening matchup due to an OHSAA rule violation. Navigating a game of this magnitude under interim leadership could stall the Raptors’ early-game execution.
Expect a high-scoring, back-and-forth thriller where Trinity covers the slim line by a field goal or less.
South Warren (6A) at Bryan Station (Lexington 6A) at LCA in the eCampusdotcom Bowl
We like South Warren in this game and the main reason is its being coached by the Smith family, a coaching/championship winning dynasty in the commonwealth of Kentucky. South Warren is the predicted winner over Bryan Station, with a projected final score of 35-14.
The teams will face off this Friday, August 21, 2026, at 4:30 PM CDT in the eCampus.com Bowl held at Lexington Christian Academy.
Matchup Analysis
- The Favorite: On3 Sports lists No. 6 ranked South Warren as a heavy 84% favorite to win.
- Class 6A Standing: Entering their second season in Class 6A, South Warren is considered a legitimate state title contender after reaching the division finals last year.
- Bryan Station Outlook: Ranked No. 9 in Class 6A, the Defenders are historically tough but face a grueling opening stretch against some of the state’s more physical programs.
Suggested Handicap Point Spread
- Line: South Warren -17.5
- Over/Under: 49.5
While these teams generated an absolute shootout last year, expect both coaching staffs to emphasize cleaner execution and stronger defensive positioning to open up the 2026 season. South Warren’s physical front line should control the tempo, wear down Bryan Station, and clear the way to cover a spread of two touchdowns or more.
We like South Warren to cover the 17.5 here and the score to exceed the over/under of 49.5-points. We like the Spartans over the Defenders, 38-14.
