We were talking with our friend, Rusty Goble the other day. Goble is the OC at Trigg County. He was excited to be getting a ton of talent back on the “active” roster from the “injured reserve.” According to Rusty, “We have everyone back with the exception of Peyton Williams. We may be the best one win team in KY.” Well, now they are a “two-win” team as they smoked the Rebels from Todd County 48-6, and with the help of this week’s PoW, just might be a dangerous team entering the playoffs. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Sometimes your most demonstrative acts of excellence occur when you least expect it, perpetrated by people you might least suspect capable of such heroics. It has been no secret Trigg County has been hampered throwing the football without QBs, Caden Scott (’28) and Timmy Williams (’28) (who may not be listed as a QB but can play it). Well, out of literally nowhere, Deon Edison had the “great idea” to pull off the perfect “jump pass,” taking his turn behind center, to a streaking Connor Bellows (’27) who then avoided a tackle in the open field and raced 61-yards into the end zone for a TD. It went south from there, but Bellows’s heroics were still (In our minds) worthy of celebration. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star.

Brody Calhoun from Trigg County maybe one of the best linebackers, at his level of play, of whom you haven’t heard @BrodyCalhoun22, @CoachEzell45, @TriggFootball, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans

Brody Calhoun is an example of a star HS player who is very likely to play in college but at what competitive level we aren’t in a position to accurately forecast. You see, there is a possibility Calhoun isn’t done growing so to know at what college level he may play we would have to speculate how his frame finishes. We just aren’t in a position to know. Calhoun’s on field production is “off the charts” as the rising junior has made close to 160-career tackles and hasn’t taken his first 11th-grade class yet. We are approaching “Dead Period” so get ready. Not much lies on the other side of “Dead Period” apart from two preseason scrimmages and opening night. We’re ready. We hope you are. Enjoy the feature.

Storm Warning: Central to host Trigg County in Mortons Gap for pivotal, district contest @_CoachManning, @HopkinsCentral. @sfitz_840whas, @840WHAS, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans

Central finds itself exactly where it was a year ago. However, this time just feels differently. The Storm pushed McLean to overtime before bowing out gracefully, 48-46, and Fort Campbell’s beating North has taught us all a little something about never quitting before the combatants even take the field. We like Central to win this game and set its ’24 record at 3-5 heading into the final two. Enjoy the feature.

Friday Night Fletch.

We enjoy bringing you scouting reports on just whom The Storm is playing each Friday night. This week is a winnable game on the road over a Trigg County team which, much like The Storm, is a much better than its record would suggest. We believe The Storm will emerge victorious, but the game still has to be played. See you guys in Cadiz.
