Well, it is National Signing Day and some kids we kicked off covering when we first came on line are leaving us for the college ranks. We don’t feel as sad as the parents, but it is pretty close. Going to always remember the class of 2020. We are going to miss the class of 2020.
Junior Day invites are going out and many of the players we have before featured are getting them. Parents called us all day asking what a Junior Day invite really means. Well the answer is different depending on the school and the school’s recruiting philosophy. Is it worth going? We think so and the contents of this article is why we say that. HB.
Uriah Virzi is a championship wrestler, a Regional Player of the Year in the KYMSFA, a Team Kentucky player, and a MS All-Stater. What he isn’t is a normal middle school football player or even a normal middle schooler. Most players at his level of development, and who have worked as hard as he, have left normalcy long ago. Rivals Dave tweeted out that he treats information sent him about Appalachia Mountain, Kentucky football players as “spam.” Well, we disagree with Rivals. We think there are fine football players all over the mountains. The USAF Academy agrees with us and was in the mountains last night to scout some 2021s and check in with its 2020 signee, Grayson Cook. Who did the Falcons evaluate? We have the “who’s” and the “why’s” in this article.
We have chosen to bid farewell to a class of football players on whom we “cut our teeth” so to speak. These guys were on our first KPGFootball Sophomore All-State team. These guys never let us down and we don’t see them disappointing us in college either. Good-bye class of 2020, we will miss you…we will forever love and remember you. This is the KPGFootball Sophomore All-State Defense together with our All-State Punter/Place-kicker. These aren’t the only all-state football players in Kentucky in the Class of 2022. We missed some players, we always do. However, we are quite confident each and every one of these guys deserve to be on this team. In what has become a tradition at KPGFootball, we have been publishing our end of the year, MS, Freshman, and Sophomore All-State teams. They are the only teams of their like in Kentucky High School football history and we work tirelessly on them. We are coming to the end of this series. Today, we publish the sophomore offense. Keep checking the site for the defense, on which we are still working. If you have a player who you believe should be on here and he isn’t, odds-are he wasn’t nominated by one of our subscribers. Next time, you subscribe and you nominate the player and he will be considered. Otherwise, you have no one to blame but yourself buddy! HB.
Here are the KPGFootball Freshman All-State defenders. Certain people at places like Daviess County think it our responsibility to watch highlights of each freshman playing football across Kentucky and select the team from there. It is not. It is the responsibility of our subscribers, who pay for this right, to nominate worthy players who we review after that process is done. If a really good freshman is missed here it is because he wasn’t nominated. If you would like to apportion blame for that, are you a subscriber to this site? Did you nominate the freshman whose omission you find to be error?
We have a hot tip for any of you wondering from where the next group of stars will be coming. Mason County has at least one and his name is Ashton Adams.
