@AJHarvey_ from @CountyColonels has a plan… @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @KyHighFootball @1776Bank

Harvey is a kid who was forced to play out of position much of his time in high school. We see him as a next-level, interior DL who can use his leverage and explosive “quick-twitch” to gap offensive linemen and force the action into the offensive backfield, putting opponents in unenviable down and distance situations.

It is good to have a plan. AJ Harvey had a plan. One of his plans for his senior year was to win a state wrestling championship. Mission accomplished!

Harvey played RB/LB for a team which struggled the last few years but which has been very successful in its football history. The Christian County Colonels used to strike fear in the heart of opponents before they even came off the bus. Nowadays, the opposite seems more true.

The Colonels still have plenty of athletic talent. Harvey being a key example.

We ran into AJ at a Christian County Public School Board meeting a few weeks prior. He was being honored as the “March Student of the Month.”

We asked him what his plans were going forward. He told KPGFootball, confidently, “I’m going to play college football.” We asked him on which side of the ball and he told us linebacker.

We don’t see him as a linebacker so much at the next level. We believe he is well suited to play an interior technique along a defensive front in college. He would be hard to deal with up there.

Though he won the 285-pound division at the Kentucky High School State Championship Tournament, Harvey is quite a bit smaller than the weight class in which Harvey competed. Harvey is listed at 6-0, 220-pounds. We aren’t sure he is quite 6-feet tall but who cares?

Regardless of his height and/or weight, he is dense. Harvey is a tightly wound ball of muscle who looks strong, powerful, and twitchy. Harvey looks explosive. Harvey is explosive. Harvey’s wrestling career would support that conclusion.

We hear there are several schools around the commonwealth interested in being Harvey’s college home. It would be exceedingly wise for these schools to include Harvey in the plans.

There are several football programs from around the commonwealth in Harvey’s plans. Harvey’s plans, we have learned, often come to fruition.
