Kentucky's fastest growing bank in the financial services market rendering a truly "Revolutionary Service" to all of its customers

’23 DB/PK left his mark on the Webster County Football program

We usually don’t feature ’23 kids this close to the ’23 season. After all, this prospect is out of eligibility. Still, Independence Bank wants us to recognize and celebrate excellence in the areas where they are revolutionizing financial services. Timothy Maddox Catlin was a first team, all-conference performer a year ago and we never got around to celebrating him. Oh well, better late than never!

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank, Revolutionary Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Today we honor maybe the best DL in the entire state of Kentucky, at least if you are concerned with down linemen making explosive plays and long-sticks from the defense’s first level. Today we honor Timothy Maddox Catlin from Dixon, Kentucky’s Webster County High.

This is a guy who our not featuring him earlier is a miss on our part, if we are being honest. This kid was one of the best PK’s on the western end of Kentucky and was a dad-burn good DB as well.

Last year, in ’22, during a 4-7 campaign which was better than it look on the record sheet, Catlin was money on PAT’s (19 for 20 for 95%). He made four (4) three-pointers and scored a two-point conversion just to sweeten the mix.

Now the boys from Webster were dangerously close a year ago to having a “break out” season. The Trojans were just three scores, over the course of the season, from being 7-4 instead of 4-7. Football is a game of inches.

In this game of inches, it will be very difficult to replace the All-WKC (Western Kentucky Conference), first-teamer the club boasted on the roster a year ago. However, in losing Catlin, the ball-club lost more than a place-kicker.

Catlin was among the team leaders in tackles, overall, and certainly among the leaders in tackles amongst the third-level guys on the defense. Catlin had 20-tackles his senior year and was a candidate for the All-WKC team as a DB in addition to his selection as a PK.

Catlin converted 95% of his PAT’s, four (4) FG’s, one two-pointer, and contributed 20-stops on defense at DB

Congratulations to Timothy Maddox Catlin for his “Revolutionary Play” over the course of his very fine high school football career and we wish him all the best wherever his road may take him in the future. His very fine play in ’22 easily earned this magnificent PK/DB this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, our friends at Independence Bank.
